The Fall of America

This isn't an Anti-American thread in any way shape or form. Its just been something thats been on my mind recently. America can't be the worlds leading superpower forever, its a statistical impossibility. Eventually America will fall and another country will rise.

I know it sounds like a very "ignorant self-loving American" type statement to make, but I find it hard to imagine living in a world where my country is not longer the political and cultural epicenter. I know America prides itself on being a melting pot of cultures, but we still like to be shield ourselves from the outside world in many ways because, with all due respect to other countries, we feel like our society is at the top and we don't need to look down. One day that will all change though, we will go online and the majority of wesite will no longer American, maybe not even in english. The eyes of the world will no longer be on us and we ourselves will be among the ones criticizing a superpower for their actions. Our culture may no longer be shaped from within, having greater influences from outside. Hell, we could even get taken over and become a part of the Great Canadian Empire.

This is all really just a few thoughts that have been on my mind recently, I don't claim to be any kinf of political or socialogical expert so don't take my opions as if I believe them to be the gospel. Take it as you will, and discuss if you wish.

They never were, they just liked to think that.

You have some pretty deep thoughts. I agree that America cannot stay at its current power forever, but I think it's going to be there for a while.

Its not all about the "skill" of thier army, to be the power nation of the world... its the influence and wealth. China is set to take over america in a good few years, and thats a statement from news, not just my mental thoughts.

Yeah the U.S. will last a while. But after the fall of America, I would say the next superpowers would be Japan and Germany.

Can you speak any chinese yet? Fastest growing economy at the moment and their government can basicly do whatever it wants. It doesn't have to keep it's citizens too happy because it doesn't have to deal with any of that democracy crap that gets in the way of wars and other fun stuff.

Alright then. how come it took 3-4 uber powerful countries to beat both Germany and Japan in WW2 and all they need to do is go back to how they were then .Once that happens they would pwn all.
