China will not take the U.S. over if we have enough nukes we can get whole cities at a time. It would be impossible for us to kill them muskett style though. If we did that whole stuff the bullet down the barrell when your in the front of the line then shoot stuff, our front 20 lines would be gone before their second line even advanced. Those old time army guys were fucking CRAZY, old having like 10 bullets and having to shove them down the barell before the got shot. I would of loved to of just thrown down my gun, run through the lines and kick all the guys in the balls. When they tried to get up I'd have all of my men shoot them in the head while they were down. We would still lose even if I did that against china because they'd give a newborn a gun every time I killed one of the other men. You can't kick newborns in the balls, but you can use them as footballs to knock down the other men.

Wasn't it about too much expansion and not enough control over the vast lands they took over?

Everyone knows that Candyland is rising to the top!

Gumdrop launches are a force to be reckoned with.

i agree, in a sense.

i think that either one of two things will inevitably occur... and i could very well be totally wrong on both accounts. i think either a) America will stop asserting its national identity and work to help create a global, united, non-imperialistic government that welcomes all nations as opposed to forcing them into submission, or b) the downfall of the U.S. and rise of [insert nation here... maybe Russia, maybe China, maybe whoever] will occur after some sort of global catastrophe, where-in the most successful rebuilding efforts will be located somewhere other than North America.

i just don't see the U.S. losing its power after a "standard" war as we know it. i think the geographical size of the nation is simply too large for ANY extranational military campaign to ever completely control. the bulk of the populace and/or infrastructure might be located in the largest cities and whatnot, but those cities are spread out across a wide span, and there is MUCH land in-between. assuming any nation were to ever successfully invade the U.S. while avoiding nuclear destruction on their land or ours (which is highly unlikely), even then their grip would be maybe on a few key cities... hardly the entire continent.

so yeah. i think that at this particular juncture in history... something new, major, and almost completely unforeseen would be necessary to "topple" the U.S. as we currently know it.

but what the fuck do i know? not much.

the day that a communist country becomes "The Premier" superpower is the day
when people giv up on being human and different

Your all wrong, there will be no new super power. The minute we think we are loosing control and if we thought we had no way to stop it we would nuke, and nuke, and nuke some more until someone gets serious pwnd.

Most likely the next world superpower will be china, however china has a serious population issue to take care of before that can happen.

i mean, i know you're joking and all, but if it ever came to that then we'd have no one to import from or export to, so we'd still be fucked. we'd "pwn" ourselves.

Thats not the point, what i meant is the fact we will nuke every living thing on this planet becuase most countries are fed up with us anyways becuase we are playing the role of world police right now anyways. So we drop, they drop, everyone else drops and were all dead. Game over.

I think in the modern world there is no such thing as imperialization. So the terminology of "taking over" is pretty varying. Of course, countries have split apart for other reasons though.
To me, countries go through a certain cycle. The USA is a very recently built country and all, with an abundant rescource supply, so they're at the beginning of the cycle. The three most oldest civilizations in the world are China, India, an Egypt. I don't know anything about Egypt, but as you can see, both India and China or expanding their industry very fast (outsourcing manufactured goods and jobs for cheap). These two civilizations are more than 3,000 years old, so they are going through the "country cycle" again after being rich in the past, war-torn, and rejuvinated. In a few decades, china and india seem like potential candidates as superpowers.

Does this mean that the United States will not be here? I think not, the United States will always be there, just not on top.

America will have fully declined within 10 years (Roughly) and in it's place China and India shall rise. Both have huge populations, both are well educated and both are in a rapid state of groth. China's boarders shall expand into Korea, southren Russia (north and south) and possibly even Japan. The only thing that might rival them would be the EU (If they ever get it to form). Canada will likely be slowly and slilently made into the 51 state (The US will need the canadain resorces). And the middle east shall continue to spill blood pointlessly. Hooray.

no, the real point is that no national leader would ever purposely do something as dumb as that. yeah, they might be tempted to, but they'd end up fleeing WAY before it would ever come to that. self-survival kinda does that to some people... especially those that think they're already sitting atop a pedestal. you know... "get out while you still can" and all that.

trust me, no world leader nowadays would bother "hitting the button" knowing full well they'd STILL have their asses handed to them. they'd run away while they had the chance LONG before that would ever get to happen.
