Can one be too creative? It seems as though I stand above all others in my class, when told to write a story of what I see in a picture I go off the wall!! Even here at newgrounds I notice that many lack creativity, in the imagination post I always seem to give more exiting suggestions than others. I hope to enter the anime field, is these all good things?

"the anime field"?

Person 1: So, what's your major?
Person 2: Oh, I'm going into anime.

Shakespeare was a goodsales man, most of his work was plagerized, aand most anime seems very similar too.

If you're really really creative, why would you want to be stuck animating anime? Short of being the lead animator, you'd be hunched over a drawing table all day doing inbetweens of really similar things every day.

I don't think it's possible to be too creative as long as you can apply your creativity to a tangible form- whether that be writing stories or making movies or even passing them along to someone else. Coming up with brilliant and creative ideas is somewhat pointless unless you can make use of them, you know?

im not creative..
and i have less talent then i do creativity.

I understand where you're coming from. But seriously never complained about the worlds lack of imagination. I just linked it to their level of intelligence and made fun of that.

I'm the one who has a brain full of ideas but too lazy to do anything about it.

if you're serious, you should have made some Flash by now, have made lots of drawing, a comic or a website --something--

and if you're creative, you'll have loooooooots of fun working at the bottom of the ladder at some animation joint, coloring arms and legs of dogs for whole days.

The reason why I never went to art school and studied writing and film instead. But man, you make it sound like some sales job.

Ah, you're just trying to show off. But I bet I'm more creative than you. And that's a challenge. Bring out the bongs!

Yeah its scary but true. There actually are coarses like this. I think that if you cant draw to begin with, dont try.

Funny, I'm right at this moment working on a piece for a collab that has that very song in it.
I'm doing the part that says "yellow matter custard dripping from a dead dog's eye." Hehe I think you can imagine the visual I've made to go along with it...

Actually I've visited a few animation studios (the place that makes the Simpsons, the Nickelodeon studios, Pixar, WB and more) and for most of them they're animating individual scenes from animations. The coloring is all done very quickly via computer (except on King of the Hill, which last time I checked is the only cartoon that still sends their stuff to be hand colored in Asia). But the character designers, background drawers etc. also work at the studio. So there are a variety of jobs you can get.
I don't know about anime. Seems like that stuff is all done in Japan, and the stuff that's done here is pretty lame.

If you're super creative and skilled, your best off making short films and showcasing them at film festivals and such, while you get another job. Then if your stuff gets really popular you may get the chance to make your own show or something. Heh I dunno.

I write poetry, and I draw a little. This BBS doesn't really cater itself to the kind of poetry I write, and my drawing (the good ones, not the crappy cartoon doodles I do) doesn't scan well. So NG misses out. Oh wells.

You should show what you got in the "Late Night Lounge". We're glad to see stories, poems or what you may like to contribute with. =)

I would say that there is more of a lack of time than creativity. Most people are more creative than you think, but a lot of good ideas can take tons of work to get out of ones head. I wouldn't go around saying that you are more creative than other people on newgrounds just because in the imagination posts you think you have better ideas. Everyone thinks that their own ideas are better than others. I don't really think anime lacks any creativity either. There is so much crap out there already that I am sure any idea you come up with has already been done, you just haven't looked around long enough.

Anways, I have to agree with a few of the others.

Why in the dangling jesus's would you want to do anime. Make your own fucking style! God knows I am, except he doesn't. -_- It's still a secret until I get something finished.
