What side?

Usually the left column of moves means white. It's labelled anyway. As for g4 and h4, those correspond to squares on the board. I believe the block a1 is white's leftmost rook.

A capital letter before the block indicates the piece, as follows: B- Bishop, N - Knight, R - Rook, Q- Queen, K - King. Pawns do not get a letter because they're not considered pieces.

So a2-a4 would indicate the pawn on the a column moved up two ranks. a2xBb3 would mean the pawn at a2 captured a bishop at a3. There's other notation too. I think something like Qe3xBe8 + means indicates check. The plus sign, that is. Checkmate might be ++. Also, castling kingside is 0-0 and queenside is 0-0-0.

On Pogo, the move history is at the left of your board, and can be hidden or shrunk.
