ARGGH! What didn't you understand about a downloadable SAMPLE OF YOUR VOICE? It must be downloadable or you will not be added. I posted that at the top of the page and so did Shock_Dingo, you must find someone to host it for you, like geocities. Check the links in my post.

Meh. Not like I really wanted to join, anyhow. What I really wanted to do was find a voice actor (see previous post) but I suppose I'm gonna get a very sour response on that so I'm just gonna do the voice myself. I was never here.

Hello, is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone home?

you guys do a lot of voice acting on NG, in your proffesional opinion, what is the best microphone out there in the 100-120 dollar range for recording for flash movies

Response to Voice Acting Club 2005-06-05 02:54:21

You'd be amazed by the fact that you can get a decent quality microphone for under 50 bucks.

Response to Voice Acting Club 2005-06-05 03:00:04

Anax, Anax, Anax...
Yeah, I will gladly voice Captain Prego again in the new episode, but I think you're moving way too fast with the project right now, and you should hold off a bit before you start asking VAs to record lines.
However I'm willing to help you out with all the current problems.

- Because English isn't your first language, the script is sorta weak in some places, and needs some editing.
- Instead of holding auditions, you're posting all the lines for each character. So 4 people may spend all that time recording lines, but only one of them will actually get their lines used in the cartoon.
- Also, because you only post lines for one character at a time, people will probably record many lines with the wrong emotion and context. >_<

I'll send you an e-mail to dicuss things further, though it would be great if you had AIM or YIM.

Professional opinion? Well, if I had $100-120 I'd spring for some kind of midrange mic at any music shop. Those would work well in my opinion. Just don't do what I did and get a positional mic. No, you CAN'T have you and your friends huddle around it and expect the thing to pick up anything other than background static and coughing. With your price range you should be able to pick up something very decent for voice acting needs.

i got mine for 30$ and it's actually very clean and reliable. remember, it's how ur technique is and how u talk into it too!

anyways guys, been hard at work, 5th rewrite of the script, and so far the story and all is cool (to me) featuring thedepressed hero, michael agoniste.

the series is twists and turns and the struggle for the identity of a hero who goes unnoticed.

if u want soem details, i have some stuff written up, and as a VAC exclusive, this is all for u guys!

since all my fields have increased and improved, here's some concept art of josef pulcher (first major villain)... it's a dark-depressing/serious flash, but not w/o it's hope and blah blah.

so here's a link.

http://img295.echo.cx/my.php?image=conceptjosefpulcher2no.jpg

if any of the VAC is interested, just give me an IM jingle. ya!

Hey everyone.

Wow, I seem to have missed alot, but unfortunately I've been really busy lately, what with my job, and then going out of town the last couple weekends, meeting with some pro VAs and doing a few shows with the national improv team I joined...

I hope to be around more often, but I've just agreed to some much needed overtime (financial wise) at work.

I can still do VA roles though, as I've done a few more this past week, I just don't necessarily have the time to come to the thread as often.

I really have no idea what roles have been taken of the ones listed on the last couple pages, etc...

So all I can say is that if anyone is looking for a VA, please check out my demo in my sig (my resume isn't finished, in fact, I haven't really added anything to it yet, I still need to do that some time soon... so there's like no info there, sorry).

If you like what you hear and are interested in my VA work, please email me at the_zodiak@shaw.ca, and I can guarantee you that I will get back to you within a day at the latest, most likely within a couple of hours, depends on when you email.

Well, other than that, I've missed chatting with you guys, but hopefully that'll pick up soon. It's nearly summer time, so after a couple of weeks, things should die down at work and I'll have some more spare time to chat and come to the boards.

Oh, and I also encourage any of you who can to come to the Anime Evolution Convention in Vancouver, BC, Canada. ( http://www.animeevolution.com/ ) , and also the Animethon Convention in Edmonton, AB, Canada. ( http://www.animethon.org ) this August.

I will be performing with the 404's Improv Group at both cons, and at Animethon I will be hosting an Amateur Voice Acting panel, where I plan to promote the Newgrounds Voice Acting Club!

I am also going to have to organize some things for that because Animethon is Auguest 7-9 2005, and I am going to ask some of you if you want some of your VA work/flashes displayed at this panel I will be hosting. I will probably talk to you guys about that at the next VAC Chat I attend.

Anime Evolution is Augest 19-21 by the way. So I hope to see some of you there, because I'd really love to meet some of you in person!

Other than that, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is the best movie ever made!

And uh, that's my long speech for the day, so... take care everyone!

-Will

Hey, I need a bit of advice from the veteran VA club members:

How do you reply to an email, with a really, REALLY bad idea, that's not funny, and typed incredibly poorly?

Do you:
A) Don't even reply.
B) Tell them you're too busy with other things.
C) Tell them, "Sorry, I'm not interested, but thanks for asking!"
D) Insult them, with great wit and skill, because someone needs to do it and it's amusing. Pwned!

Response to Voice Acting Club 2005-06-05 14:00:31

Letter C seems to be the best choice. Or, you can always offer to help improve the script if you're really nice. But if you just want to tell them off nicely, C would be best.

Just incase some of you aren't aware, we've a VAC Sunday chat today! I've decided not to call it a mini-chat anymore for several reasons. So it's just known as the Sunday Chat.

Anyway. Yesterday's chat was great, and I'm glad those of you who showed up-- showed up! Hopefully you all can show up to today's. I'm not exactly sure of the time, but it just might happen same time as yesterday, which was @ 6pm PST.

It's held on Yahoo Instant Messenger. Add Elliair_Lel.

Be there, or be castrated! :o

Elliair the Queen of Voice

Elliair never ceases to amaze me with her vocal talents. I want all to know who is browsing around for female VA's in their project, that Elliair is quite the pick of choice with a perfect wrap sheet!

Elliair has successfully done improv VA'ing for me on another great piece called "My Special K".

You can listen to Elliair's utter uberness here >>> Elliair - My Special K

Alright, that's cool.
And for something off-topic, it's not cool to have "private" chats to discuss so-called faults of others on Newgrounds.
If you've got something to say, say it here on the forums, or in an IM.
I don't care if this causes drama. As a club, we need to be open with each other.

First of all, it was longer then 15 minutes.

Second, I distinctly remember getting called an asshole in that chat. If that's not getting DOWNED I don't know what is.

Lastly, I think everyone can benefit from a little maturing. If people acted their age then maybe there wouldn't be so many hissy fits going around.

Response to Voice Acting Club 2005-06-05 20:29:53

Ok, that's it. I can't take this crap anymore.

I personally don't think the VAC is dying, or dead. It's the beginning of summer for a lot of people so they're enjoying it and not here as often. Most producers have already been here and casted and now they're working on their flash projects for a while. That's why they haven't been in. This happens at other voice groups. It's just circles. Things are casted around the same time, they finish around the same time and then the casting begins again.

I also don't think we're that full of drama. We have some drama, but not an over powering amount. We have people who are friends, people who aren't. Just like ANY group. We're not misery! We have positive threads and thoughts, but for some reason, people are glossing over them and going for bullshit.

Kagome- It was in no way a PRIVATE chat. It was the VAC chat. We have one every week. Hell, we have TWO every week. Times are posted. You could have come. I don't know HOW you found out what was said, as the contents of the chats are private and nobody was supposed to spread them around, but you had every chance to come and have your own opinions heard. In fact, you SHOULD come. I have NO idea why you don't, and why you hide your real voice, only to turn around and bitch when people think bad things about you. In 24 hours, you made this thread more drama-y than ever with your little "I'm quitting, but I'll still work, so email me, and now I'm not quitting anymore" thing. Jesus, what do you expect us to think! Stop being a drama queen! I honestly don't care if this will make you hate me, and I don't care if it'll make other people think I'm a bitch. I'm finally saying what we're ALL thinking. We're here to work. We're not here to cater to your ego. You can voice act, You have talent. If you don't know that by this point, then just stop asking and move on.

Yes, some things were said last night. But reasons were given! Ell and Edwyn had a talk last night about their feelings for each other, apologies were made and everything was fine again. That's the RIGHT way to go about this.

People, you have to stop making drama out of nothing!

Response to Voice Acting Club 2005-06-05 20:41:49

In response to the last couple posts: wow.

Response to Voice Acting Club 2005-06-05 21:23:09

I still can't believe you think I wasn't serious when I said I wanted to quit. I DID, and it had NOTHING even remotely to do with anyone or anything in the VAC - or even Newgrounds period. It was to do with real life and other problems and people as devoted as us can't help but realize we are tied down to this and will come back to it, even if it's as quickly as I did. I hope you can realize I had every intention of leaving voice acting for good until I realized I don't give a crap if people in real life have issues with it.

If you don't believe I'm being truthful about that, it's your choice.

I didn't come to the chat because I was at a friend's graduation party the entire evening. I don't usually come to the chats, because I am out doing other things on Saturdays.

I appreciate you being honest with me in the open.
I don't hate you. I just wish this could have been done sooner.
