So what are some of your favourite games that are older than you? How do you feel about missing the hype surrounding their initial releases? Bonus points for obscurity.
Donkey Kong Country for the SNES, I beated this game twice so far.
A truly prophetic sig...
For me it would have to be the original Doom from 1993.
Love that game, probably prefer the original game to Doom II, guess I just prefer the tighter level designs in comparison to Doom II's more arena-like levels

FYI don't look up Flight Sim 3.0's box art
Super Mario World was my go-to game when I was little! I always remember seeing the Super Nintendo in my household, but didn’t figure out where it came from until I was four! I remember turning the game on was such a hassle like most cartridge games, but every time I finally hear the Nintendo *blink* followed by the game’s title screen, I’ve always felt a sense of accomplishment!

Mario 64
F-ZERO X
Puzzle Fighter
And last but not least,
a hidden gem in arcades,
Mr.Do!
My favorite video game before I was born has to be Super Mario Bros. 3, SMB 3 was released in 1990 here in the United States and I was born in 1993.
Zelda NES, the Zelda Oracle games, Kirby's Adventure, Kirby's Dreamland 1 & 2, and Mega Man on NES.
Super Mario World, not that good at it but played it al lot.
Super Mario Bros was released one year before I was born. Not sure what I would have picked if I was any older.
I have a few games that i do enjoy from way back when. If we're talking arcade games then Tempest or Mario Bros. Console games would probably be Super Mario Bros. 2, and for home computers it would be Freelancer
