Why do women show off their feet?

I have been wondering about this for a long time. I know men and women are different and wear different types of clothing most of the time, but what is up with them showing off their feet so much? Not only do they wear sandals and flip-flops at the beach, they're now wearing it in schools, at work, church services, weddings, proms, the Red Carpet, just about anywhere. A lot of them say they hate feet, but they sure love showing them off. I really don't care what people wear, but isn't showing off your feet all the time quite primitive?

Perhaps awareness of some men's foot fetishes? The reason being, the feet are near in the brain's sensory receptors to the genitals. Some women also just like to show off their meticulously manicured toenails, I suppose. No one sees them otherwise. It is weird to me though.

I don't necessarily show them off for the sake of showing them off, but if I have a nice pedicure during the summer, then I might wear sandals more often just because I feel prettier, if that makes sense. During winter, it's too damn cold. I always walk around in socks.
