Cropping it is definitely an improvement, remember a pinup is supposed to feature the model, not a neat industrial background with a model in it.
Well the Challenge is over, I'm kind of surprised how many participated, almost the same amount as a regular challenge...
So much for dakker eh? This is why you don't say you're going to participate beforehand.
Anyways, on to the next one.
week 6
Adaption Challenge- Style X
Basic Challenge: Many art/illustration jobs involve adapting your work to fit into a mold that has nothing to do with the way you usually draw, test your skill in this by abandoning the way you usually approach things and trying to adopt somebody else's technique. Draw an original character or a character belonging to your chosen artist in their style. Look at things like line weight, use of colors or rendering technique and try to copy it as closely as you can. Name the artist and link to some of their work when you post your attempt so we know what you were trying to do. They don't have to be famous, but it should be somebody you idolize a lot, or get inspiration from.
Bizarro Challenge: The same as above but instead of trying to copy your selected artist try to take every attribute that makes that artists work unique or special and reverse it making the "opposite" of their style. Again, name the artist and link to some of their work so we can have a frame of reference when we see your attempt. This could be difficult or very vague depending on who you pick, I suggest picking an artist with a bold, striking, iconic or original looking style.
Heroic Mimic Challenge: Draw an original character in your style, old school disney cartoon style, classic marvel style, and an iconic anime style such as akira toryama's or another of your choice. If you don't like one of these you can substitute one with a style of your choice but only one and you must reference it when you post it so we know what you did.
Mr. Mime's Wet Dream Challenge: Do all the challenges, or create your own studio and draw all the styles over a period that may extend far beyond humanities lifetime. Send an example of each style to me as proof.

I swear i tried, but i procastinated during the weekend too, so... I guess i'll have to starve this month :p
I have proof
Was meant to be based on one of the styles of Yoshitaka Amano but it kind of evolved into something else, can't necessarily post the relevant example as it is in a book that I own and I don't own a scanner of any kind, the face is the only thing relevant to his style though with the specific shape of the eyes and facial structure that resembles his Vampire hunter D work.
Unfinished, been busy with work related stuff, wanted to quickly do something to post for the end of this week, good luck everyone else : )
Ugh, sorry I wasn't able to join this weeks challenge...
Also, why are there only 3 submissions. D:
I tried a Tim Burton.
Also, has anyone played the demo of "nothing to hide" yet?
I tried mimicking the style of Escalus, characteristic by the voluptuous curves slick line art and slightly blurred cel shading. There's probably a lot more to it since what I made doesn't really look similar enough although that may a lot have a lot to do with the fact that I'm not that good at anatomy, foreshortening, cel shading and lineart.
The Bizarro version is on the right.

Sorry, I uploaded the wrong version :s

I love you. This is my new favorite artwork.
They're harder to draw on model than you think, but once you get one down, you can draw any of them. A shame they dont look like this anymore.
Week 7
Art Challenge: Shame
Take one of your oldest drawings you still have. Post it here. Laugh.
Redraw it better. Post that one afterwards. Laugh. Feel better.
This one is one of my first digital drawings. I think she was supposed to be some kind of witch but... well. Now I laugh at the smarmy will-o-wisp copy pasted face.
I lost most of my old drawings in a drastic flood and an old notebook by stupidly leaving my bag in a public transportation.
So good thing I uploaded one of them in the newgrounds portal, which I deleted and able to view via the deleted art page.
...Looking at it now makes me realize at how horrible I used to draw.
I have my own methods and its a mix on the step by step how to draw I learned with a few friends of mine.
Now learning about constructions, I thankfully can now draw with proportion because I understand how the human works more now.
2nd best week challenge so far! x3

Alright, this will be fun.
Here's one of my first pictures done digitally ever. I took a drawing, scanned it, then struggled to color over the picture all on the same layer.
Also, this was done in gimp with a mouse.
Let the re-doing begin.
Such blur, I'd almost think there was something wrong with my eyesight.
I posted this in the art forum back when I was 13. I can't believe 7 years have past already.
I cannot reinstall my scanner, so i had to take a dirty photo :(
I did this 3 or 4 years ago, not sure.
Just look at it... dem proportions, and dat... nonexistant waist... dayum gurl... The letters below say "Wooden Elf" btw hahaha
Character design for a high school animation class; SWAT Kats inspired, apparently. Or I had aviation mechanics on the mind. I panicked after the Coast Guard couldn't take me because of my need for glasses and I signed up for an ROP program for something I had a vague interest in. Bladda-bladda-backstory. Also, hands. wtf.
I don't know how good this is proportions wise, but i'm gonna guess it's at least better than the original xDD

It was extremely awesome watching you do this piece, Daker!
