You're thinking of the 1% of artist that are actually making it that big. If you knew anything about the music industry in general you'd know that bands and artists typically make money off of touring. In general the money an artist gets from actual cd sales is extremely small...it's merchandise, tours, sponsorships and whatnot that really bring in the money for an artist. Because selling a shirt takes minimal production cost in the long run as oppossed to the millions that go into producing albums.
But anyway...I could go on all day...umm...that song you posted was pretty bad. If Enya and John Tesh had a baby...it would end sounding something like this. Trite lyrics, horrible music and overall the most mediocre thing I've heard in a while....

well i do like nirvana and green day,but i also like metallica and iron maiden,black sabbath,the ramones,the offspring,mudhoney(not that much)alice in chain,and other crap.

My band just came out with a cd as well, being as it is our first, we haven't sold many.... yet. I checkedartists would be a great idea, out the guy's site and listened to the full song on there. Its not my type of music, but it wasn't bad. Still, not my type of music though.
I think the section to help out local artists would be a great idea, and I would definatly post some of my songs up there.

Because reviews aren't ment for promoting other sites. The front news can be about whatever we want. Most of the time it's promoting other people's projects, like Edmund's Gish game, etc.
Also most users promote shit like Outwar, King of Chaos, etc. Those sites don't need support, they suck.
You're friends music is interesting I might just have to look into purchasing a CD. And making a section to promote local bands is a great idea.
Them songs aint bad at all i listened to them on the site and i might purchase a copy.

Its just sorta boring to hear people talk about the same bands all the time...I mean theyre great and all but I always need something new to get into musically. But I'm a music geek, not really big on flash and what not. I enjoy the site and its got some awesome stuff on here but music is my drug of choice.
