I honestly don't know what i'll do if SOPA passes, and Obama doesn't veto it. I know he has said he would veto anything that censors the internet, and if he wants to get reelected i think he will veto SOPA. To be honest, if Obama does veto SOPA (assuming it passes) i will vote for him. By the way, i'm a pretty big conservative. Freedom of speech and information is way more important to me than most political subjects though, and if Obama protects them, i will gladly keep him in office.
For those of you not sure about SOPA, this is what would have happened if SOPA passes with Tom's DMCA issue: You would go to visit newgrounds one morning, and be greeted by a DNS lookup error. Thats it. No muss, no fuss, newgrounds gone overnight. No one even has to contact Tom. Still think SOPA is necessary? SOPA is essentially trying to kill flies with a 60 megaton NUKE when they've already got a big (too big) fly swatter known as DMCA. Sometimes i just want to say fuck it, and move to canada (this thought is not blustering when you live as close to the border as i do).

i doubt it, the SOPA is intended to use DNS blocking, so any website on any domain in any part of the world can be blocked, thank shit i live in Canada and the piratebay is in sweden.

So has anyone checked the legality of congress passing a bill that affects websites from other countries. I think it's either a gray area or it is an actual problem. It's probably nothing but if that is the case then if this does pass an apeal can be made to the judicial branch to overturn the bill.
