Can't you just set your microwave to ''defrost'' and put it in there for 30 seconds?

Should have defrost timer on the box. If you don't have the box look up the specific one you have online should give you a timer, if you can't do that then just throw it away.

Actually, you shouldn't do it like that. If the water is too hot, it defrosts the outside of the food too fast, and the middle is not thawed at all.
Although, for a burger, I don't know how much of a difference this makes.
There's only one sponge brave enough to find out.
