Battlefield games have always towered over the Call of Duty games, but it seems like only now that they are in serious competition with each other, especially as far as consoles go. After watching this, I don't see how CoD can possibly remain in the top spot. This just looks like a far more superior game in every way.

Eh, I wished they would have showed more multiplayer and something other than tanks, but I still loved it. But one point they made on TV: The Battlefield demo was on PC. You guys think it's going to be this smooth on console?
Battlefield 3 is truly going to cause Call of Duty to fight for superiority. It's not going to be like "Haha, another failed WoW killer." I think BF3 is really going to put a hurt on the CoD franchise unless they make dramatic changes.
Bad Company 2 sold like 3 million copies on 360, which isn't bad at all. But MW2 sold something like 12 million. Pretty fucking hard to compete with. I think BF3 is going to triple the BC2 number. MW3 still might sell more copies than BF3, but it's going to be much closer in range, like maybe only 3 million copies in difference. And it's about time, CoD is getting too carried away with their comfort zone.
DICE definitely won my heart over, and I hope to God they put things into perspective for Activision and Infinity Ward and make them realize their reign won't continue unless they make big changes. All they have to do is look at Guitar Hero to see what they're doing to Call of Duty.
