Speaking of burn out ... stitching this freakin thing together has proven to be a whole freakin' circus.

That's fine though, cuz it's lookin' pretty sweet. Thanks Jordan for those menus :)

The bio portion is half done ...

The whole movie I will piece together once I've received all the parts.

If you're interested in seeing the progress, please pm me.

Finished!

Hey Rice, Can we use Vcam? if we can, then I'm gonna use it for dynamic effects.

Now to make myself a samurai!

NeroGeist, the Vcam you used was AS2 ... the project is AS3 ... JordanD also used Vcam and his worked perfectly fine. You'll need to switch it. If it's just a code swap, I can do it.

Don't worry about it. I hooked it up. Though Vcam3 appears to retain the last point of focus, so I had to add the Vcam to all frames, not just the segments you specified.

It works now.

When we do our final pass, you can see if there are adjustments that need to be made.

10JD, do you have a bio/pic.

Nero, I sent you the current draft so you can see what I did with your Vcam.

Bubbowrap ... if you have a vector version of your bio pic, it won't get pixelated in the resize for the Samurai menu.

Jordan, I've been hacking away at the symbols and simplifying some stuff in order to reign in the lag ... it's working.

Also ... the "loader" from the latest API extension for Flash is freaking the project out. The Ad and API connector are fine, but when I add that stupid loading bar/button it screws the flash and repeats the intro sequence ... this is why the current version doesn't even have it. I'll need to figure that out.

Other than that, the parts look great, the menu is hooked up, I'll just need to wait for all the parts before I synch it with the music.

The link (if you've received it) that has the progress is the only link you need, as I'm uploading newer versions to that same url.

I've gotta get some work done ... just waiting on those parts.

Never heard a thing from Biff ... so I don't know what's up there, but I know StevenM is on it ... right?

Cheers :D

Nice! There are a couple of parts where it goes off the screen (once when the feet skid on the ground, once where it shows the samurai crouched down etc. It was pretty much in the middle of the animation.)

Also, after seeing the other bios, my part really didn't take 40 hours, that was the time frame it was in, but minus sleep, dinner, and work, mine would be about 28 hours. sorry about that. :P

I'll send the .fla file of the drawings, but I'm in the process of attempting to draw a more chibi samurai. Mine is all...proportioned and noncolorful and stuff. Shouldn't take more than an hour D:

Response to 24 Hour Challenge 2 2010-09-07 13:23:00

I've got my fla ready to send, but for some reason when I save it as CS4 it takes away most of the sounds from the timeline.
They're still in the library and I haven't done anything special with them.

Anyone know what this is?

That sounds strange! GET IT!?

But seriously ... try this...

Save the a version of the file as a CS (renamed) ...

Then open both side by side.

Then paste the sounds from the CS5 over the missing sounds of the CS4 (which was already saved as CS4) ... save ...

that sound do it ... lemme know if that works.

Hi

Response to 24 Hour Challenge 2 2010-09-07 13:46:11

that exact thing happened to me...i couldnt figure out why - - you just have to save it as a cs4 and let the sounds go to the library - then once its in cs4 just put em back in!

Yeah, I tried that but that's when it gets rid of them. (Though I have to do "Save as..." and pick CS4.)

If it really won't work I could just lable where each sound goes. There's only 9, so it shouldn't be difficult.

WIP

I know you said not to include the song with the file, but I kept it in purely for timing issues - the final file won't have the mp3. As soon as the battle scene has been finished, I'll send you the CS3-compatible FLA file.

Yeah, but when I just click normal save it says it'll save it as CS5.

Something else happened with your file Red ... your sounds kept playing over everyone else's scenes, during the scene select... until I put you at the bottom of the que of the scene list ... if Ocker's file gives me the same problem ... I have a work around in mind.
