From my experiences on alcohol intervention in the British health system (which seems to include some some of change on a weekly basis regarding the patients, but I won't go there), then I believe that visting your local GP or whoever would be your best option if you're willing to get help, if you judge yourself to be in danger. Granted, this depends somewhat heavily on your age (students for example I know, receive different government-approved treatment than others) and your location (certain sorts of treatments may not be available elsewhere), but do some research on what applies to you. Look up Alcoholics Anonymous, but keep in mind that AA aim to have someone kick alcohol 'forever'. Recent government schemes targetted towards the young aren't so 'extreme', yet they usually have a group angle to treatment process, again from experience, and which may not benefit you. It's simply necessary to do so really, at the end of it.
Like someone said, having the right level of social responsibility deemed upon you is often the key to kicking alcohol. There's a media side to it, that an alcoholic should just ignore. Alcohol abuse in the British media (and by extension, the British law of today) is more concerned with blocking you out. Don't let it degrade you further as a person.
If you're serious and not just trolling (I know that mouthwash is just impractical for alcohol consumption - you're seriously better off just buying cheap, low-quality booze), then keep it all in mind, and act while you can, basically.

not like we care ... we all drink we all smoke at some pint in our lives.. we all might make a porno.. humans are sick, disgusting, revolting opportunists... its what we do best..
Not everyone is cynical like that. Regardless of whether or not this user was trolling or not, some can not accept their human persona, and that's going to have horrible consequences if it's maintained in this day and age. Alcohol abuse, I will say, results in far less than oppurtunism; it deliberately results in alienation at an 'amateur level', and as a horrid signal for those more experienced that try to bridge the gap.
'Human nature' simply doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. We're better than that, all of us.
