I think it's a good album, I just think when compared to every other opeth album, that it is boring and generic.

The Drapery Falls is one of the very few opeth songs I find BORING.

I think the only amazing albums are Still Life and My Arms, Your Hearse.
But I think Blackwater Park is on the lowest shelf of quality Opeth albums. Besides the title track its a dullfest.

I don't know about you guys, but I think Orchid is a great fall album. I listen to it constantly in the fall. The way the songs sound and the titles just seem fall themed to me. Morningrise is fallish too. In the winter I listen to Deliverance and Damnation. In the spring I listen to My Arms, Your Hearse and Ghost Reveries. And finally in the summer I listen to Watershed.

Sounds good. Details are very sparse right now so saying Fall 2011 does give me a feeling that they might need more time with their album, thus running over to 2012. Either way, it'll make whatever year they release in better for that particular year in metal.

Yeah man, I jizzed in my pants when I read this exciting news! Can't wait till it's released.

In all honesty, I'm hoping it's a more focused effort than Watershed. Not that Watershed was bad, I just can't enjoy it as much as their other albums.

I forgot to mention about my appearance on the Opeth live DVD. I watched through it and while it was great to see how they put the show on DVD, I was really disappointed at only finding myself on one shot. Yeah, they weren't very focused on where I was and I noticed they had dozens of shots of the same people on stage. The shot of where I was wasn't very clear. I needed a blu-ray release in order to have a clear picture of it but they didn't go with blu-ray.

Great news! Even though I still haven't bought other Opeth CDs yet (I focused more on other stuff, like the new Iron Maiden and Blind Guardian).

Damnation is one of my least favourite Opeth albums but I'm still looking forward to this. I'm sure the 70s feel this album is meant to have will provide something new for Opeth. I can't relate their previous works to 70s prog rock so I really want to see what this is like. Conveniently enough, it comes out just before my sister's birthday (just like the Royal Albert Hall DVD, haha).

Yeah it's always nice when a band tries something different. And I don't know why, but the cover reminds me a bit of the painting "The Garden of Earthly Delights" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Garden _of_Earthly_Delights ), which Deep Purple used as one of their covers.
