We've forgotten 9/11 2009-09-11 07:14:01

Last year my school didn't take a moment of silence, and I don't expect it to this day, people who have birthdays today are celebrating it like they would celebrate it if it was yesterday, last year we had school pictures on 9/11, this year I'm expecting nothing canceled, I don't see any memorials on T.V., the entire Yahoo front page no longer has a giant memorial, even though they did that when Obama was president, only two of my over 300 facebook friends wrote "never forget 9/11" as their status, the people no longer care.

It's a sad day when the lives of many are lost but forgotten, so today, is in fact, a sad day.

I hate to break this to you, but in the course of history it's a little loss. Does anyone remember the day WW1 ended anymore? People move on and try to heal by forgetting. Not the best move, but it seems to be how things are for the most part.

2004 tsunami killed over 200 000 people and left over million people homeless. 9/11 was nothing compared to that.

Trust America to preach to the rest of world and make them remember an event that happened to them...

Nobody gives a moments thought for the German school shootings, or anything else of that matter because forcing people to remember it dilutes the impact of it.

Well, that one sums it up.
Shit happened, more shit has happened to other people, life goes on.
Also, in case you missed out on this, there's a financial crisis going on now.

Also, you guys have had your revenge in the middle east.

relative to other mass tradagedies this is a crappy spec on the time line.

You want a cookie for being the only one to remember this crap, the only one to think about such depressing hurtfull incidents?

Help your self, I hope they taste bitter.

the tsunami was a nature accident
9/11 where something people did on purpose to hurt others
it doesnt always matter the count on how many people died but how and why they died
and yes the tsunami was tragic to but today is the ninth september so therefore we pray for the families who lost their children parents E.T.C

I am an american. i spoke to someone on the phone as they saw the plane hit their loved one's floor on the second tower.

And I admit that I have kind of forgotten a little bit about 9-11. I mean I do admit that it was a tragedy, but damnit I feel sorry for the victim's families just when they feel like they are finally able to stop grieving the american media has to rip the bandaid off the wound again all in an attempt to get a freaking soundbite to increase their stupid ratings.

And I am tired of the people that I have come in contact with that say that forgetting 9/11 makes me unamerican. Excuse me but you dont know anything about me other than my stance on this particular topic so dont judge me and my patriotism.

Fuck 9/11, way more people died in the holocaust and WW1 than 9/11. And when I say Fuck 9/11, I'm not trying to offend people who lost someone on that day, but it seems to be a little over reacted in my opinion. It's nowhere near as bad as other massacres in the course of history, and what does it matter if there's no more moment of silence for it. They don't do a moment of silence for all the other big massacres and such do they? So deal with it. Mourn the death of your loved one and get on with your life, you can't expect everyone to give a shit about something like this when it has no effect on them.

Good point, but this is a Tsunami we're talking about. Sure it was tragic, but taking the lives of men and women, who have done nothing wrong, is different and most people would find it more tragic.
