It has been running very well today!

I also think you should do *something* about all this author bashing in the bbs lately. Like, just some statement setting things straight so people don't constantly FIGHT about it! It is getting silly, or scary, and who knows if it'd lead to more of this anti-Foamy/anti-Knox/anti-LF type stuff, yeah?

Just something I'm irrationally concerned about :/

Yea, they shouldn't have to worry about those things when they come to newgrounds.... or do they? Im guessing that illwillpress is scared to submit anymore movies lol. It shouldn't have to be like that though :-/

Just please oh please oh please never force interstitial ads on us. You know, like what the IGN Network does. That would suck.

No errors, but the movies are loading horribly slow.

NG seems to be alright for me, a few weeks ago, errors were driving me nuts, but I barely get any now. It makes things more quicker for me and gives me more time. Though I have been having a bit of trouble with the BBS yesterday. I think it's gone now.

I notice that when I first got NG, that the only pop-up I received was 'HELP NEWGROUNDS' or something. When I went to Andy's (Andy_Parker) house, I was shocked that NG for him had way more pop-ups. After investigating my computer, I had software blocking it, so it allows me to do things much quicker.

But in general, I'd have to give the server a 8/10.

by interstitial ads, you mean the full page ones you have to watch before you can get to the page you're trying to go to, right?

pogo.com makes use of those a lot before you can play a game there, and every now and then as an intermission (but you can continue chatting during it, so it's not so irritating).

It's been great for me, no error messages. As for the ads, I always click x (close), so I have no problem with them.

Response to How's NG Running on Your End? 2004-01-12 07:54:32

i haven't had an error load for a while, so me very happy. keep up doing whatever your doing

Response to How's NG Running on Your End? 2004-01-12 08:08:23

I voted for about 125 off the list yesterday, and I only got a load error about every 35 entries. I just ended up skipping that one, which "solved" the problem, as the next one never seemed to have the error. The error seems to come and go. Sometimes I get it a lot and some days not at all.

Dang, i get errors quite often here, but its mainly late in the night in Britain so i dont know if anyone else is experiencing the same problems. It was a nightmare yesterday though even through the day, it got so bad i just gave up and went and played some Prince of Persia, lol.

I got your email. We have been following the Foamy thing the whole time. Sometimes it is tough to decide how much to intervene in the natural social order of Newgrounds - often intervention only sparks resistance, and when you get large social structures that get pissed off at our "facist ruling", it just becomes a downward spiral. In general I do want to discourage negativity on the site. I'm sick of all the teen angst going on around here.

I never thought Interstitials were that bad. I like them because you see the ad, then you continue on to a page that doesn't necessarily need to have ads as a result. I just hate advertising that makes the page ugly... such as annoying flashing banners, Flash overlays that you have to wait for, expanding banners, multi-pops, etc... Compared to all that, I don't mind having to view a full page ad. For example, if every user had to run a full-page ad before watching a Portal submission, but it meant not having any other ads, I think that would be a great trade-off.

Agreed, i think i would rather do that, than have all the other ones there, it could make it easier on people i think.

Tom, i think that you should run a poll on the front page asking everyone if they would like that new add idea, what do you think?
