amazing work!! love the beat
I started with a beat, and slowed it way down. I felt it had a tense tone along with the melancholy first chord. It took a while to figure out and add the choral layer and descending chords. I love dark wave and trance, and I was happy that this reminds me of the genre.
It wasn't until I was trying to come up with a name I decided it would be perfect for a third person adventure horror game I want to make. The game will either function on a clock system, or have set markers for when it goes from day to night and vice versa. I thought this would fit where the light is fading away at dusk.
I plan on taking it further by adapting it for a few possible eras in historical music. I plan on having a minstrel version, a mostly percussion version, and a string quartet or concerto. These would play as the character goes through the different stages of the house, with the electronic playing when she finally gets back to her present.
I worked on this after first making and liking a beat in Ableton's Learning Music curriculum. I'm still trying to figure out the different scale and chord types, but the advanced topics are going into a little extra detail.
The album image is a proof of concept at the moment. I plan on working on the art for it and swapping it out soon.
Made with FlStudio. VSTs include Flex, Cymatic, and Miroslav Philharmonic.
