The Jester Affair 2

Author Comments

Shortly after the jester was executed for committing adultery, there have been several disturbing reports of him appearing in the dreams of the townspeople.

This is a sequel to a song I made a year and a half ago, titled The Jester Affair.

I like the harpsichord at the beginning, even if it sounds a tad dry in the mix. The texture comes together well by :09, and I like the “oom-pah” bass line and eerie tone of the celesta and strings. The mix is pretty quiet overall here, but is also well-balanced and clear throughout. I like the injection of energy at 1:04 and the minimal outro. That said, I think you could’ve done a tad more with the composition here, especially the melodies later in the piece. It began feeling repetitive after a while, despite the tasteful variations in orchestration. Still, the sound design, atmosphere, progression, and mixing are all great here. Keep at it, Everratic! ^_^

Awesome whimsical-dark atmosphere here.

The orchestration is great and the composition is a delight to listen to. It flows very well.
Great job with the dynamics, too. Liven the song a lot.

Thanks for the follow and review!

A dark-whimsical atmosphere is exactly what I aimed for! I'm glad all the effort I put into the dynamics is worth it :)

Very mysterious vibe, I like it a lot! Especially fond of the violin solo.

That said, since this is a sequel to another song, maybe you should link to that one in the description for convenience/comparison?

Thanks for the review!
