You wake up to find yourself in the pitch dark. You have no idea where you are, but you know you’re not alone, as you hear different sounds coming from every direction. You can sense some sounds being closer to you than others. You hear explosion after explosion, and worst of all, you hear cries of agony in the distance. You feel your surroundings and realize that you’re in a cave, so you use the walls as guidance to move forward toward the loudest sounds. After a few turns, you finally catch a glimpse of light, and an exit. Once you exit the cave, you’re in disbelief at what you’re witnessing. There’s an ongoing war. For miles and miles upon the open grassland, two armies are engaged in a brutal battle that is killing hundreds every minute. A soldier dashes past you, dropping a sword, assuming you will know what to do with it. He seems vaguely familiar, but your memory is blurry at the moment. To your surprise, you’re quite a mighty solider, a relentless slayer who shows no mercy. Despite your best effort, there is not much you can do to save your side in the battle, as you are losing numbers disproportionally. You eventually come to the realization that you’re not actually that courageous and conclude that you must be dreaming. Now that it’s a lucid dream, you decide you want to make things a little more interesting, so you fast forward a millennium. Now you’re fighting another battle in space, on your enormous, state-of-the-art spaceship. This battle is a 1v1. At the speed of light, you glide around the multiverse, strafing from fire and looking for an opportunity to flank. Finally, you land the fatal shot and take down your enemy. After a victory dance, it is time to return home. You land on Earth only to find total devastation in your village. Everyone is dead. Buildings are burning to the ground. And the stench is unbearable. You decide to wake up and put an end to this insanity.
