very cool.
I don't know what brought this on. Perhaps I wanted to combine traditional medieval and Celtic musical forms with the almost electric look and feel of Eden. Perhaps I had this tune stuck in my head and I wasn't sure what else to do with it.
Regardless: this is a second teaser, this time of a piece of music called 'As Stars that Shine'. And it's not even finished yet: this needs more vocals and more percussions! For the first time in a long while, I can finally picture the end result in my head. Deo gratias. Rest assured -- this isn't going to be the final length of the actual piece; this is a loopable teaser.
Those airy sounds leading to those bangs -- that was my heavy breathing. Apparently this is one area where being sick helps. Also, the singing's mine too. As is the sequencing, but let's not nitpick.

very cool.
A great loop but I just know this could be so much more! let me know if you decide to make a full composition of this! I really love the piano chord progression at the end of the loop. The one thing I don't like is the impact sound at the start. I'd prefer a low end rumbling boom rather than a lo fi mid range hit. maybe layer it and keep the original low in the mix?
There already is a full version of it, called As Stars that Shine (FULL), but even that probably sounds incomplete. I had a breath voice that sounded like a riser, leading up to the hit, but maybe it's a bit too drastic, no?
This would be great as the title loop for some really epic actiony thing, transitioning into the full work at game start... I'm imagining fantasy themed violence! Gratuitous gnome-surfing through caverns of warped psychotic delvelings! Riding through a forest on horseback trying to flee a ravenous horde of gibbering fishmen, leading them straight into the waiting ambush of your comrades. Gliding through a treetop landscape with a skimstaff and collecting... chickenfruit?
I don't know. It's tense and exciting like a title screen should be :) Got that Audiosurf feel for the synths. Looking forward to the finished work.
I rather like the increasing frequency of piano notes building up to the air sound and bang. I imagine a harmony line rising along with the swell.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
