I love your art!
Believe it or not, this is a 3D render faux-painted to look like an actual painting.
I used iClone 5 to render the original image (I think it almost blew up with all the characters and trees and such), then Dynamic Auto Painter to convert the image into a faux painting. Normally I go through several steps to fade the image and give it age in photoshop, but I kinda liked the outcome.
I love your art!
Your 3D faux paint style would be AMAZING for cutscenes in a video game. Impressive. As a standalone it does quite well also. I'm sure this must have took like several hours to setup in something like Maya or Blender, maybe 3 hours for the rendering? Definitely equates to the amount of time it would take to paint it from scratch. I hope people don't take your work the wrong way because everything is 3D'ed.
This took me a hour or two at most to setup and about 10 seconds to render. :P
I use a WYSIWYG (i.e. "real-time") program called iClone. It's nowhere near as powerful as Blender or Maya, but it's sure as hell 100x easier and faster.
I really like this art as it has very moving colors, background foreground details, very conceptual and an alive picture. I am also thankful to you to grant me permission using it as reference art in AIM contest. Whether my piece fully reflects the art or not, the art itself is truly marvelous.
Hey man, I'm so honored you decided to use my work for this contest! :O
I think you have a really interesting and unique interpretation of the piece. There's definitely some sort of darkness here with the big dark hulking mass of the castle looking over the land. Perhaps it's the knights riding to go take on the evil that occupies the castle. :)
c.c.c.c.c.cool bra! combo breaker!
lol?
Wow! Man, I really love the color choice you made, especially that up the hill the grass turns orange.
Man this is just awesome!
Thanks, glad you like it. :)
