Holst's The Planets

I got inspired listening to Holst's "The Planets" and looking at an old medal I found that shows the then-known planets in the solar system in the form of their namesakes' mythological forms. Created in photoshop using an image of that medal and some tools... would probably make an epic background for a game. :D

Though I am not very good at defining technicalities in an art, but I simply like the work here. It feels like a dark mythical zodiac to me. Don't know what else to say but for my liking I would probably make a bigger print and hang it inside my room. Extra points for realistic details.

samulis responds:

Hey, Thanks Emid. :)

I actually am thinking about getting it printed up on a t-shirt.

Very reminiscent of Age of Empires, Civilization or games along these lines. Reminds me of a Final Fantasy X-2-esque credits background, too. I like the mythological references you made; nice work!

Nothing I could gash points for, except perhaps for colour balance -- but it does depend on what this background is used for.

samulis responds:

Hey, Trois! Nice to see you around! Thanks for the review, it means a lot. :)

Unfortunately I don't have great monitors and I absolutely love over-saturated reds and yellows, so I'm not that great at that part.
