Reviews for "Cathode Raybits 2"

I give up this game is too hard for me. the guy reminds me of master chief. and the game is really common to final comando http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/674249 which was much much better, because it had options like pause mute upgrades collectibles and so on.

SinclairStrange responds:

Well someone completely and utterly missed the point. I guess you're just too young, still covered with spots and marmite are we?

And secondly, someone also can't read because you can in fact pause and mute the game but what kid reads now a days eh?

It's decent, but:
- J.Sled disappears when entering menu, so in effect can't use with a weapon.
- Unwanted slides when accidentally tapping twice.
- Can't jump when walking near the end of a platform.
and a few other things which were frustrating.

SinclairStrange responds:

J-Sled is supposed to disappear and not stay on screen with other weapons, a la Mega Man.

I know about some people are accidentally sliding, although I've never had that problem, the same mechanic and control is found Mega Man X series. (Although granted it did also have a separate button to dash too.)

You can jump while walking at the end of a platform, your feet is where you have collision detection and not the whole sprite.

Other than that I hope you enjoyed

decent but a little to hard to be fun and controls poorly, also the areas where guys can just come out of nowhere and one shot kill you is kinda silly

*yawn* You took the name of a popular game, gave it shitty 8-bit graphics (these graphics are retrooooo) and Mega Man mechanics. Nothing new, nothing good. Flush the turd.

SinclairStrange responds:

So I see you're going to flush yourself? Good riddance :) It's peeps like you that give Newgrounds a bad name.

The jump and shoot buttons are backwards and there's no way to change them. This makes the game unplayable. This looks like it would be awesome if it were playable (assuming, of course, that the '3' in the lower right corner of the in-game menu doesn't refer to lives), which is why this review awards 1 instead of 0 stars, but it needs to be actually playable to realize that potential awesomeness.

Please fix your controls. At the very least, provide the player the option to correct them.

SinclairStrange responds:

Well the controls aren't backwards they're NES styled and are actually the same controls for Mega Man.

I have just added in an option for people to change their controls if they wish.
