Reviews for "Cosmic Clicks"

The game is really good, the universe is interesting and fun, it takes quite a while to finish the game but placing a dialog every upgrade really makes it worth playing it until the end. It can be beaten in over 1 hour 45. In this era of clicking games, this one really has style and goes to infinity and beyond the classic clickers as it actually invites the player to stay and read the whole story.
Awesome work there, I'll look forward for any other submission or update of the game.
Keep it up with the great work !

DarkTimmy responds:

HA! Thank you! That was very nice of you to say. The game was mos-def designed to be beaten in less time than the average clicker (which can take days or weeks). I love the idea of a ton of upgrades and for some reason the space thing just works for me. Maybe there will be another Cosmic Clicks!?! Who knows! Thank you for the comment and the play! Best, -Tim

Fun little "Cookie Clicker" inspired time waster. The banter between the characters is what really set this apart from the rest. Looking forward to the Boss 101 sequel (and like kingwayner said, an RPG featuring these two plus an expanded cast would be awesome).

The only complaint I have is the complete and utter waste that is "Scanners".... seriously, they are expensive, yet give next to NOTHING in terms of speed output (seriously, I have it fully tricked out with 100 Scanners and all the upgrades for it yet I only get 160 units per second? That is wack, yo!)

DarkTimmy responds:

Hey thanks! I appreciate the comments! Like Boss 101 this was a learning experience and taught me a lot about the clicker type games. I'm considering another since this seems to be getting a positive reception. if that happens I'll definitely look to improve a lot of the little touches! Thank you again and take care! Best, -Tim

I must admit, at first glance this game doesn't seem like anything special or entertaining.
The clicker genre is nothing new of course, but the crown jewel of this submission is the witty and hilarious dialogue between "Captain" Steve and his robot buddy Max.
Their conversations take this genre to an intriguing new level, and I found myself smiling and chuckling quite a bit as I was racking up the in game cash.
The music is also very fitting for this experience, as it keeps a nice beat for continuous clicking and upgrade gathering.
I've played your other games, and I've enjoyed them as well. But I have to say that this is the one that has made me a fan and I will be indeed following you from here on out.
Keep up the great work, and I would love to see more games like this from you in the future!

DarkTimmy responds:

Well, this is one of those letter that really makes my day. I am so glad to hear you and others enjoy the game. I'll let you in on a little secret, I really love the Steve and Max interaction. It was a totally serendipitous thing when it happened. Boss 101 didn't really have any of that at first BUT when I added it the whole game made a lot more "sense" if you know what I mean. They are so easy to write and it's so enjoyable. I agree with you they have the ability alone to lift the subject matter. haha. Thanks for the rating and the comment. I'm glad you'll be checking out the upcoming games and you might be pleased to know there is a sequel to Boss 101 planned with WAY MORE Steve and Max! Thank you again and all the best! -Tim

Strangely good.
The art-style is good as always. Music is really great. Gameplay, well, wasn't meant to be there much. But still it is interesting enough to keep you engaged. I'm not much a fan of "click and score" type of games but still I finished the game in one play. The only thing is it gets a bit... well.. a lot repetitive. But hey, that's what it has to be like. The dialogues were really humorous and cleverly written and that's what drove me the most to finish the game. Moreover, the medals are a good addition.

Art-style & graphics: 5/5
Gameplay: N/A
Music: 5/5
Storyline & dialogues: 5/5
Overall: 4.5/5

Another gem by the author. Keep up the good work.
Really very happy to know about the Boss 101 sequel. All the best!

DarkTimmy responds:

HA! Thanks. I hear what you're saying too. I think the Steve and Max stuff really helped a game that might not have been as compelling to some people. It's certainly not as deep as the traditional cookie clicker games but it does have those guys. Also , thank you for the nice comments about the art and music. I did get fortunate in finding a track which just 'works' well with the game. Overall, I'm quite happy with how this worked out and glad people are enjoying it!!! Best, -Tim
