Reviews for "Ereban Dawn"

idk didnt seem like very good game
sound was ok but the scratchiness made it sound worse than it already kinda did. animations arent that great, but its whatever bc the b&w makes it less obvious. it was dumb how there were hands and ghosts n stuff that floated around but if you hit them they didnt do anything...
furthermore platforming / control was mediocre, and i still dont understand what the point of the lanterns was

Beautiful ambient sounds/music, but the fact that the goal of the game and the controls aren't explained really downgrade the gaming experience. And the only two apparent enemies in the game, a floating witch-like spectre and a grasping hand coming out of a wall, don't even interact with the character at all. They just pass through. I don't get it.

nahhhh

RAGE QUIT D;

I don't have any idea how this has so much praise: It does nothing to deserve it other than a slightly pleasing concept. Also, unless people are scared of static noises or the game's 2 foes (I'll include that 1 dangling hand to be nice), then I don't know where all the comments about the games "atmosphere" are coming from either.

The graphics are suitable but not great and that our character is the least detailed part clashed a little with the surroundings for me. The gameplay's pretty awful, especially as you can't tell solid ground from secret drops, meaning that once you've completed the tunnel area it's hard not to repeatedly fall back down. More landmarks may have helped, or more visible passages, but no such luck.

The worst part has to be the landscape/jumping: Some small wall ledges that'll stop you from jumping up (assuming the jump command registers at all) are something you may go straight through when you try to land them. This is more than a little frustrating as the ghost depletes your health fairly quickly and lanterns are your only defence, so I mostly found myself going to-and-fro from the nearest lanterns to I tried to go up a nearby shaft.

Also: Only 3 medals, all secret? I got most of the lanterns and played in fullscreen and still nothing, so nevermind. I wish I'd skipped this repetitive experience.
