Reviews for "Wilt: Exordium"

nice idea but getting to the switch is a bitch.

This game has basically taught me that grenades will solve all of life's problems. Little Girl there should focus on getting herself some grenades instead of being creepy.

8-bit style is very nice, and the controls are pretty smooth, except when you're in the air. Kinda rocket all over the place. Only reason I took off half a star there.

I love that you can point your gun without moving. Makes adjusting your aim so much easier than most other shooters. Very well done, very creative, and just a little creepy. Jon there looks like he's going necrotic or something.

Interesting thing about the boss: If you lob the grenades straight up so they land on his head, the mini-ghosts he spawns will die instantly and he moves straight into his next speed phase. Found this out by accident. You may want to adjust it so the ghosts spawn in a more spread out fashion.

Also, I have no idea why the line "Jon found a GUN" cracks me up so much.

Dude, I'm fail. couldn't make it over first longjump. haha. cool style of game, like the music very much. Tight, almost acrobatic controls are pretty sweet. Very dark feeling to the whole game. Cool cave design.

out of 10...
gfx - 9 (fit perfectly)
sfx 9.5 (smooth and eerie)
design - 9 (straightforward instructions)
gameplay (tight controls)

overall, I think this is a really cool game because it gives you a good eerie feeling. I got kind of excited trying to make the first longjump (which i failed). Game may be extremely difficult is the only downside I see.

i liked the game there was no bug. 8-bit still rocks. it remembered me good old Contra days. And i'm so in to that creepy-gothic arts and mediavalish sounds. Its such a beautiful game which made my day :) good work!

You're welcome and thanks!

Very good. I enjoyed the retro feel and could see myself playing this for a while if it were longer however I did find the controls very choppy. It seemed as though I could only execute one action at a time making moving or aiming and attacking at the same time very difficult. Also please make the title track downloadable. I beg you. Before I even started the game I let the track play out for hours. Yes I meant to use the plural.

Asvegren responds:

Check out calamaistr's page, he made all the music. I don't think he has uploaded the title track to NG, but it's based on this:

This song will be the main overworld theme in the main game, when it's released.
