Reviews for "Muu: Just Another Day"

Great for a first, nice atmosphere!

BUT, what some have already said, it's really frustrating to get through. The jump may be the main problem, it kind of feels 'stiff', like it should have a longer reach. I managed to get the 'trick' of gaining speed by falling on cliffs, but it still demanded 100% accuracy(then I played chicken mode and it was quite a breeze)...
Other than that, great graphics and music. I look forward for a 'sequel'! (or something along the lines, it's an intesting game conceptwise)

Really good game! Not this easy at all, but I liked it! --and I need some hint for the last secret medal. (PM me, plz)

I didn't manage to finish it, but what I saw of it was very nice - the style, the music, everything fit together very well. It reminded me of a mixture of Knytt and Super Mario Bros. (a good thing, BTW).

But as I said, I didn't manage to finish it. The last jump in the Ruins kept me trying for a while already; the first one in the Wastes was outright impossible. I tried for several minutes, then switched to easy mode, tried some more, found I still couldn't do it, and ultimately gave up in frustration.

Looking at the previous reviews, I think I'm not the only one who had problems, either. I'm aware of the ski jump mechanic, but I couldn't pull it off well enough to, well, pull it off. (Maybe I'm just getting slow.)

Fix that, though, and you'll have a real winner on your hands.

Miktar responds:

It's a tough call. If I fix that "problem", then I'd be fixing what all the people who told me they loved the game for its difficulty, thought was perfectly fine. Were you having a low framerate though? I found that framerate can make all the difference between success and failure in Muu, which is something I don't have much control over.

Just after encountering the blue monster, you hear music and think, well it gets epic ... Unfortunately, you end up hating this part. Because the festival to die impaled on skewers starts here. But the game is funny.

Everything is nice, except the pixel perfect jumps. The whole story, actually, seems to be there just to divert players from that fact...
