Reviews for "Echo Force Zero: Vol1"

It's okay.

Nothing that really grabs my interest and makes me want more. The plot is fairly generic and the characters are painfully archetypal.

Really impressive

You've got great imagination AND voice actors. If I could give a tip, it would be to work on the anatomy, but practice is the cure, and I'd like to see many more volumes!

Pretty good, but

You are throwing a lot of characters and information at the audience for a first episode. If you added fight scenes you could theoretically stretched this first episode out to 2 or 3 episodes.

But overall, it's very good. I like the dialogue and the artwork doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother other people.

Looking forward to seeing the next episode.

not bad

Not bad, although a bit slow moving. Fair enough for a first episode though.

Good thing Omahdon had plenty of practice for this movie from doing the exact same character for Wonders of the Universe.

Entertaining, not precisely excellent.

Okay, first off, I'm giving you an 8 because I think this is good work, lots of people working on it and apparently a lot of thought put into its story and execution.

Since making suggestions and critics will make a very long and confusive paragraph I'll just evaluate each area separately.

Direction: It is a well directed movie, you change cutscenes well, "film" from interesting angles and make every character express itself the appropriate amount of time with well tought expressions. If there is anything that the direction part should be worked on is on making it develop faster at some points and making fights more dramatic or at least more coreographed.

Music & Voice Acting: The music is good, no weird or dramatically unfitting tunes whatsoever, everything kind of goes smoothly, but some of the tracks aren't even noticable, maybe using more dramatic or ear-captivating noises to make scenes have the feel you want them to, The voice acting is great, all your voice actors do an splendid job, but some voices are really similar and it becomes a bit monotonic if such characters dont even make unique expressions.

Animation & Drawing: Very well animated at some points, some movements look really smooth and the way the characters "stand" and interact with the creative and well colored. (the background's overall lighting and detailing need more work) But some of your character drawn expressions and tricky things like hands, proportions are just off, you also mention this is heavily anime inspired, the characters eyes, hair and overall body proportions need some work then, the colors are fine and the way they act is fine, but you need to have more detailed hair and eyes, and really smooth skinny and detailed bodies.

Story, Setting & presentation: It is well put together, some of the names are hard to remember and understand but it all sounds well, your characters seem to be fitting in the story both wardrobe-wise and attitude-wise. The way you present scenes, the title screen and the credits its all very proffesional and well constructed, if anything I'd suggest checking subtitles again since I could spot a few types like "we're already for your training" I think it should be: "we're ALL READY for your training"

Anyways, good animation, terrific voice acting but your drawing skills need some work, other than that you will improve naturally I'm sure.

LewToons responds:

in addition to anime its also heavily inspired by many western style cartoons so i think alot of my drawing style comes from that as well - - thanks for the review.
