ninja should have won
this is just me being critical, but the entire aspect of a ninja was their training to kill samurai quickly and effectively, even the weapons that they have such as their swords are made so that they can pull their blade faster and kill the target, a ninjas true training is do anything to kill the target, if historicly accurate, the ninja should have won

Good - I knew the ninja was doomed
The ninja had a mask so you couldn't see his face, so he was doomed from the start as an unsympathetic character. The fact that he got in a few hits at the start cinched the deal.
