Reviews for "Wrath of Anubis 2"

Good potential

Controls broke the game though. Even setting them to different things didnt fix the fact that it felt stiff as hell at times, with lag on things. If it was smoothened out then it'd probably play a lot better.

frustrating

even for the intended retro look, sprites and animations were an eyesore.

controls were terrible. luckily we could customize them.

i disagree with other reviewers that the control was awkward. once i fixed your wretched (and i mean REALLY stupid..what were you thinking..??) default controls, control was fine.

difficulty wasn't high. i don't think you understand what difficulty means. you just artificially inflated the difficulty by having long survival sequences punctuated by a start-over-from-beginning at the slightest mistake.. and random timing on puzzles that made it near impossible to get through without some serious luck on your side.

difficulty means you need to think a bit or work on your timing. it doesn't mean you need absurd luck and patience. that's just frustration and bad game design.

making this passable would take more work than it would be worth. but i can see a lot of effort went into this, so i will allow you to have 6 points.

Good try

Not a bad game at all, Im sure I could even get into it if I tried harder. My primary complaints are The graphics, the way the character handles. First off let's talk about the way the character handles, my complaints isn't so much with the controls it's just way the guy moves, jumping through hazards can be quite challenging and the wall jump thing is nothing short of broken. The graphics well, I know they're supposed to look retro and I have no problem with that, it's just that the graphics are ugly, the protagonist looks like a bear belly'd hick version of indiana jones, the enviroments are all bland looking as well, in addition the treasures should offer a bit more of a reward to the player than woo look I got a shiny, look at the nintendo game pikmin for an example of what I'm saying, the treasures you find often do something or are some form of upgrade, which makes dungeon crawling a pleasant experience. That's all I have to say, sorry if this review is a bit on the negative side just trying to identify opportunities for improvement.

Not as efficient as the pre-title!

This game has some major flaws and I will point them out now one by one:

While the soundtrack is very well chosen for this type of game,I'm not quite satisfied with the SFX of this game! This annoying sound of spinning chainsaws which occurs whenever you press 'R' to revive the character, and the scream which he makes when he dies are just plain annoying, too loud and going on people's nerves quickly! Seriously,I sometimes play this type of games in the middle of the night and this loud all-of-a-sudden AHHHH when he dies always wakes up my neighbours lol! I do not want to play games in mute mode so I need a bit background music but his scream always tops everything off! Chill it down a bit,we don't need ''authentic'' oh-my-god-I-so-fucking-died-and-now-I 'm-gonna-lament-like-hell-screams you know!? ôo

This game has criminal hit detection, and by ''criminal'' i mean that it's so malevolent that it should be locked ASAP like a loony toon conspiracy theorist and the key thrown wide wide away! When bouncing off from this purple undead,it is very difficult to perform a double-jump...for reasons unknown...

Overall the game difficulty is beyond compare as many people have already stated, but what's worse is the fact that ''your ass is hitting ice ground''! It's a german saying and it means that you're in such fiery need of ideas that you need a cool-down immediately! In the form of fresh new ideas would be best...

I think you recognized it on your own damn well that it's impossible to leech out anything from this game anymore without making the game impossible! Your main focus on this installment was obviously the sheer difficulty to make it almost impossible to beat! The user-created levels were worse than anything else, but also those older levels where you integrated some ''ghosts'' in it,were over-exceedingly annoying as you're almost done with the level and head to the life-saving exit...only to realize that a group of 4-6 ghosts comes directly towards you and you have nowhere to dodge!!! It was just a plain matter-of-luck thing rather than skill or timing or anything...

Overall I must say I'm rather disappointed, and that's sad considering the fact that the first installment was WAY better appreciated by the people among which I can count myself as well! I was really excited when I saw that the series continues, but now I will not look forward anymore to future installments! [If there will be any future Wrath of Anubis titles that is...]

3/5 and 6/10 because I could draw some fun out of the game!

hard cannot describe your game

Your game is just FRUSTRATING .. which is generally not good at all .. wasted lots of time trying to finish only 6 levels !!!

And level 13 is just a joke ... bare in mind that playing a level 40~50 to beat it is just EXTREMELY BORING ... and a simple mistake can cost replaying the whole level from top ..

Anyone could make a game extremely hard and unbeatable .. but a smart programmer should make his game 'acceptably' hard
