frustrating

even for the intended retro look, sprites and animations were an eyesore.

controls were terrible. luckily we could customize them.

i disagree with other reviewers that the control was awkward. once i fixed your wretched (and i mean REALLY stupid..what were you thinking..??) default controls, control was fine.

difficulty wasn't high. i don't think you understand what difficulty means. you just artificially inflated the difficulty by having long survival sequences punctuated by a start-over-from-beginning at the slightest mistake.. and random timing on puzzles that made it near impossible to get through without some serious luck on your side.

difficulty means you need to think a bit or work on your timing. it doesn't mean you need absurd luck and patience. that's just frustration and bad game design.

making this passable would take more work than it would be worth. but i can see a lot of effort went into this, so i will allow you to have 6 points.

Good potential

Controls broke the game though. Even setting them to different things didnt fix the fact that it felt stiff as hell at times, with lag on things. If it was smoothened out then it'd probably play a lot better.

My complaint is the same as everyone else...

It's really hard. Yeah, I know you warned us, but jebus christ. It's hard to enjoy this, it's mostly just frustrating.

Otherwise, an excellent game.

Harder than hard

Difficulty is set to Giygas! The traps seem to be in poor spots at timed wrong. Traps should just be simple math problems but the ones in here cant be predicted. The insane difficulty and trap set-up are the reasons I scored so low.

Level 1

Thats as far as I got and I really didnt even want to play that far. I knew from the beginning it wasnt going to be that good simply from the controls. The double jumping tedious and the wall jumping is bad as well. Ive played plenty of hard games and none of them are hard because of the controls like this one is. Many traps laid out simply to annoy the player and they dont add very much difficulty they just seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It has a certain appeal to it but is short lived once the actual gameplay starts. Oh and why cant the character walk while crouched... sure slide down walls and double jump but you cant move when you're crouched buddy....
