I hope this game improves a bunch.

It is great already but, it would be much better with some updates like the ability to fire while jumping.

This is amazing!

The quality of the sprites and background is very good. The characters are on par with commercial products and the music is a higher standard. This is one of the best games out there. I cannot wait for the full version!

The controls to me seem fine, though I do agree with the comment on being able to jump and shoot at the same, if at all possible.

That one room with the acid annoyed me. I kept forgetting about it, and every time I opened the door and entered the room, I would have the move key held down, walking right into the acid.

It's a shame you can't get an XNA license... might I ask why? This could potentially be a good game on the inde market.

and about XNA:
once I emailed microsoft asking about if I can submit XNA games from the country I live in which is UAE, they replied:
We can only support submissions from our supported list of countries. UAE unfortunately is not one of them and until Xbox LIVE explicitly supports UAE then the chance of getting a premium subscription for the XNA Creators Club is unlikely.

I'm quite puzzled.

This is a very promising piece of work.
One can see you're not making this game half arsed, at least by the quality of sprites, and backgrounds. I like those.
Story so far is interesting as well. Aside of that I can't really say much, since game is still a demo and consists of few bits.

If I might suggest something though...
Maybe it would be good to make jump function react faster. There seem to be short delay between pressing the button and executing command. Not a big deal really, just saying.
Other one would be about playing with light effects. At last room I couldn't help but to use flamer and see how much of the dark it would light up. Result was a bit disappointing, but it might be just me having big expectations ;]

So, all in all this will be pleasant game that's nice to eyes. Assuming You'll finish it. Good luck on that project :)

seems the jump issue is system related since on my PC Adam jumps with no delay at all.
I recall sometimes flash acts weirdly on some systems especially on the mac.
if this is the case I will rewrite the collision code, which is likely the cause of this issue.
