Reviews for "Project Flame [demo2]"

extremely good

one minus other than some have pointed out is that there is no way to determine how badly hurt the enemy is, if you could give some indication of health, that would be reasuring, cause now it sometimes feels like it just wont die

Snakex86 responds:

well in earlier versions this was there was a life bar for monsters, but it was for testing purpose and removed, I think a game like this does not really need one.
the good new is that monster health is higher than it should be to add more challenge to this short demo.
thanks for the 10 :D

Potential to be Epic

Okay let me put it simply: if this demo is awesome, then the final product will be epic. Seriously.
Professional artwork, wonderful sound and music, incredible atmosphere. I really liked the game, the references in it (though I don't know if they are intentional) Vux looks like a Flash tribute to GlaDos from Portal and the game reminded me Dead Space, look the weapon! looks like a plasma cutter to me, and the game looked far more like Dead Space at the last few minutes.

That aside let me make some observations:
- I died a lot at that acid pool. The jumping feelt heavy, when I jumped and landed and then pressed quickly to jump again, it doesn't happen immediately.
- Shooting mid-air or being able to control de aim is a must.

By the package the game is worth 10 and a 5/5, but please take more caution with the controls.

Snakex86 responds:

well vux isn't intentionally a reference at all, but we wanted to put something to guide you around the lab, it happened to be a robot.
I will look into the heavy jump, and will tweak it to be more fluid.
I am not sure about the aim, since it will require full reanimation of Adam, and that's expensive!
thanks for the 10 dude :)

Dang it

Why did this have to be a demo? I wanted to find out what happened next. Make the full version as soon as you can. Oh and by the way, when you are not able to access the third level and it says "Access denide" or whatever, you spelled "denied" wrong. Just saying lol

Snakex86 responds:

we will try to finish it as soon as possible ... especially after the good reception, thank you guys ;)
and yeah .. it's denied ... fixed ;)

Looks good so far

This could be a fun game, just a couple things. First off, you should definitely be able to shoot in the air, it'll make hitting targets much easier. Second, can you get past that part with the electric wire in the acid room? There doesn't seem to be anything you can do. Can't wait to see what becomes of this game though.

Snakex86 responds:

I will disuss the possibility of adding in-air firing with the animator ... since this will require more jumping animations for adam.
and I agree the electric wire/acid pool part is really hard, it requires some timing. I hope tweaking the jump code would fix it.
thanks for the review ;)

Really good game

The art looks professional, but the controls are a bit of a drawback. I like games with as few keys as possible. The jump should have been the up arrow and the release should have been a double-tap of the fire button, like GammaFoxTBG suggested. The action key can even replace the kick, as the kick doesn't seem to be of much use. (Maybe the kick would be better if it had a longer reach, could damage boxes, and/or could knock the enemies farther away.)

And I may just be too uncoordinated, but there seemed to be a slight lag from when I pressed the jump key to when he actually jumped. Maybe that is intentional or maybe it's my computer, but I'd die alot when I'm trying to jump over acid--half the time, he'd just skid off the edge of the platform.
