Why Did Hit The Spikes Again?!

This is perhaps one the best I've seen in a long time. Sometimes I forget that I'm playing a flash game, and I start to feel I'm playing an underrated classic computer game from 1990. I love the music, very classic with a heroic feel. Very very well orchestrated and epic. Is it original by the way? Anyway, there seems to be an attempt at story too. This draconian space pirate has potential, he seems like a bad ass. So his music fits him quite well. This game is like classic NES Mega Man and a little Metroid for good measure. I wish this series good luck.

Pseudolonewolf responds:

The music was composed by myself specifically for this game... So I'm glad that people like it!

Awesome!

An genious platformer, I really like it! It's difficult, but you can begin with an easy difficulty, it's a bit short, but you can play it again and again without getting bored, and the last boss is very hard to beat a first time!

Great work, can't wait for Episode 2!

You did an amazing job

It actually looks and feels like an old game. This is probably among the top 5 platformers here on Newgrounds.

Perfect platformer

This is a great platformer game.
The sprites were done wonderfully, the story is good and it's mildly humorous, the level design is challenging and it looks nice, and the music fits in with the pixel-style graphics.

The only thing I hate, are the people who compare this to other platforming games such as Megaman, and Mario. Then again... any classic platforming game is compared to that.

win

Wow games like this are what nintendo should have been putting effort into back in the mid 80s and early 90s. It has really cool music, a fun fighting style, really good controls, and a level of challenge that is really hard to find nowadays. Defintaly can't wait for the sequal. There are problems however but they are pretty minor. Also there is something to be said for the nostalgic pixelated look.
