Reviews for "Haven't Got A Prayer, pt2"

Pretty cool

My only question in USA catholic preist dress like that, because Im catholic, but Im mexican so... i don't know.
Not so funny movie, but excelent animation

Slackman responds:

I would have to guess that at least one Catholic priest dresses like that. If not, then this one's a trend setter!

I'm sorry you didn't find it all that funny, but at least you liked the animation, and that's worth something in my book.

Funny

The graphics were nice and smooth, sure it was unoriginal but the fact its sparked contraversy within the "OTT religious types" makes it a winner, because lets face it followin god is free will, slagging him off is free will. why people make a big commotion about these things is beyond me, because i'm pretty sure if "God" did exist he'd have a sense of humour.

Similar to The release of The film Angels Vs Demons - which btw is "pro God" All the really devote christians still said the film is blasphemy , idiots lol.

Back to the main point. funny. contraversial, Brilliant!

Slackman responds:

I'm not making any statement as to whether or not God exists, but if that gigantic entity does exist, then I'm with you. I'm a firm believer that God would have a sense of humor.

Brilliant, eh? I'll take it! Thanks.

well hearing problems here also

I am not a english native but my english speaking and hearing is rather good if i might say so. Still it was very hard to understand what they are talking, most of it was like "word -sound-sounds-sounds-sounds-word" in terms of understanding. so like 50% if not more was just me guesing whats going on. Either you had your lips to close to the microphone or the volume was just to high, both ways - to much "bass". Aside from that i quite liked this animation. but really if you could record a better, more "clear" for ears audio version it would do wonders.

Slackman responds:

Sorry you couldn't understand it. I don't think it was a language problem. It probably had something to do with my ineptitude with audio, or my microphone just isn't good enough. At this point, I don't know if I can do anything to improve the audio, but I'll give it a look.

Pretty Funny

Got some good stuff running there. Love all the stuff they started firing at Jesus the moment they saw him. Pretty slick animation and good sound.

Was it just me, or did the black guy look like he had cleavage? It just looked a bit wrong in my opinion. But the character was pretty darn sweet. Just the drawing looked a little weird.

Alot of the small passing jokes were really nice like 'for my sake' and my favourite bit with the statue of Jesus and the urinal in the church. That was a nice touch. And the fact that they went on droning about the usual stuff after he died again was pretty cool. And also the part about Jesus wanting to go home and doing that by killing himself - very unique.

And of course the 'Holy shit' joke was incredibly corny, as intended so I believe.

The subject matter here is obviously a play on the ridiculous lives that some people who claim to be 'religious' actually live. I won't say it's a particularly original idea, but you did quite a good job nonetheless in presenting it. It just needs some sort of a new comedy twist to really let it take off.

Slackman responds:

The problem with Catholic jokes is that it's such a controversial topic and so many comedians have done bits on the topic. I'm sure I stepped on a few toes with this, it was inevitable, but it seemed like too big a topic to avoid in a series about religion.

I'm glad you enjoyed it anyways though, and thank you for the in depth review!

Eh...

The Catholic Church is definitely full of hypocricies, and I appreciate the point you were trying to make. However, I had two problems with it: first, the audio definitely could have been better. Second, I found the last bit a tad offensive. However, that's just my opinion. With all that being said, I look forward to your next video.

Slackman responds:

People seem to be having some real problems with the audio, I guess I need to work on that for next time. A lot of people are finding that last bit offensive, and I'd be lying if I said I was surprised. In my defense, I didn't do it for no reason. It added to the story (at least in my opinion) and added a surprising and point making punch line at the end.

I'm glad you're looking forward to the next one.
