Reviews for "Haven't Got A Prayer, pt2"

Interesting

I think the point you wanted to make is to criticize the fact that most Catholics don't think for themselves, simply taking every rule exactly from the bible and when they're confused they rather like to hate things instead of trying to understand them, at least that's the picture I get from American Catholics.

So it would be pretty plausible for Jesus to get stormed with a buttload of stupid questions on the day he returned to earth. And the ending which everyone finds so offensive just clearly points out the macabre ways of showing off the corpse of the religions "saviour" in the churches is simply gross. At least that's what I always think when I enter a church.

So, to wrap it up, I think you made some valid points, though you did transport them in a bit childish ways. And the voice acting was simply not understandable in some parts.

Slackman responds:

It looks like you got it!

My approach may not be the most adult ever, but I've found it to be at least a bit effective.

I promise, I'll work on the audio.

I expected better

Your Author Comments stating how you were gong to "explore" different religions caught my interest, but I soon realized that you were simply mocking the aspects of Catholicism that you didn't agree with or understand, which undermined any persuasive points that you wanted to present towards Catholics or Christians (the ending sequence didn't exactly help either). If you were just making this to ridicule the religion, the jokes were rather hackneyed.

Next time, try presenting at least a couple valid reasons why such beliefs are ridiculous or wrong, because Jesus ranting in the bathroom "The gays are kind of creepy, but still!" does not constitute a logical argument for Catholics accepting homosexuality.

Slackman responds:

I apologize for having disappointed you. Each segment was a personal exploration of my own personal opinions as well as general perceptions of different religious groups.

I'm not about to get into an argument here, but points that I presented included anencephaly further exacerbated by pro-life initiatives (also, some people aren't ready for the responsibility of parenthood and shouldn't be punished the rest of their life for one mistake in my personal opinion), violent tendencies not being stopped by the cross and (often propagated by it) and a general intolerance and hate for anyone whose beliefs don't coincide with ultra-conservative religious-right people, which generally doesn't coincide with the golden rule upon which most (if not all) sects of Christianity are formed.

Sorry you didn't like the way I presented my arguments. Unfortunately, I've found that preaching in cartoons tends to drag them down under their own weight. I intended to encourage thought rather than argue against each of these points, as I think it would be hypocritical for me to tell people what to believe.

booooOOOO!

what the hell men?!are you fricking lost ur mind!...this is not funny at all!

Slackman responds:

Ouch

well

I couldn't really understand everything they said but it was kinda funny
audio wasn't too good
But I also find it quite 'depraved' to hang a statue/image of the death of someone and worship your lord and savior through an image of his death :s

Slackman responds:

Audio seems to be my biggest problem here. A lot of people are having problems. I'll just have to work on it.

Depraved is a pretty strong word. I won't call it completely inaccurate, but I will say "to each his own"

Went too far

The animation was decent, but a little wooden at times. The audio is a bit faint, I had to turn up my speakers, and I still couldn't understand some of what people said.
You had some good points and I saw where you were going (even if I didn't completely agree) right up until the end. The ending was just too much. It was disappointing since I felt like you just erased all the points you just had made by overdoing the last part.

Slackman responds:

I suppose I'm not the most subtle animator ever, and this was far from my most subtle piece. I guess I'll have to work on the animation a bit, and I really have to improve my audio. Sorry you didn't like the ending, but thanks for the review!
