Reviews for "The Guardian: RPG"

Very good, but very glitchy

Another solid title from mini juegos, but there's just one little thing that bugged me: this is the biggest Zelda rip-off I've ever seen! You have the hearts, the sound effects, even the little bastard who won't let you reach your goal until you have a sword.

But, let me get down to the problems. All fun this game presents disappears once night rolls around. Once that happens, not only are all the shops closed, but he moves slower! On top of all that, the game starts to hiccup every 2 seconds or so. At least a text box doesn't pop up that says "What a horrible night to have a curse."

I can't make a comment on the actual gameplay, because I lost interest before I even got my blade. On my first run, I decided to start over so I wouldn't have to face the night, but I had to anyway because of the shady dealer. I got all my materials, had to wait about five minutes for night to end so the blacksmith would be open, and then I talk to him, but he says something about the materials and then disappears. I figured he just went off to make the sword, so I left, came back, and he's not there. Out of boredom, I started to push against the walls, but when I pushed against his table, I got stuck, and had to close the game. I'm sure the actual gameplay is fun, but why make it such a painful process getting to that fun? This would have been a lot better if I just had the sword from the beginning.

Regardless of my gripes, the looks very pretty. There's a great level of detail put into everything, and it really stands out. Plus, I have to admit, they may be borrowed sound effets, but they're good sound effects. Hell, at least you HAVe sound, unlike a lot of the crap I see go through here. That alone almost warrants a pass these days. Still, I can't say I'm really enjoying myself with this one. Fix the glitches, and you'll be in business, and I'll be back to see the rest of this.

Fun (for a while)

Decent, if uninspired, Zelda clone. The graphics and sounds were absolutely top-notch, kudos. But the controls were sloppy, and the game took forever to get going.

The day-night cycle is cool in theory, but it was basically just a way of artificially lengthening the game. I hated being shut out of the place I needed to go at night, and being forced to go back, sleep, and walk all the way back. It took me a good twenty minutes to get the sword.

Speaking of, the sword controls were awful. You have to actually take your hands off the arrow keys to move. Why can't we hit the S button while we're moving him? Doesn't make sense. It was tougher than it should of been because of this. Also, don't include shielded enemies if THEY MOVE AS FAST AS YOU DO. It's almost impossible to get around to their side to kill them. Even when I did, though, it would sometimes glitch and not count the damage. Super-lame.

It's got potential though, and if you tighten up chapter 2 I'll check it out. :)

buggy

i got stuck a few times:(,but it does look good

idk guy

ima give u a five on the vote just cause it seems like this game would be awesome if it would stop glitching on me
the walking really slow at night things a pain in my butt, and i keep getting stuck in rocks and walls... lots of bugs, needs work
not bad though

Bad

I get stuck in doors and on the cliff things way to often. Nightime is stupid, there is nothing to do. Make the day longer and the night shorter. Make it so people don't get caught inside things.
