Reviews for "OLD MoBS EP1"

err.

not to be mean or anything but that was really terrible. It had sketchy animation, bad jokes, and horrible voices. Bleh!

tacobuttfish responds:

Well, sorry you feel that way. We're normally received well at least for the animation or story. But different boats for all the folks I guess. Maybe as the story unfolds a little more and our animation skills improve with each episode we'll see you back here with a higher score! And yes, the sound quality falls very short of studio quality, but hey, isn't that why we're still on Newgrounds and not on a major network? We do, thankfully, have better equipment now, so that part of it will be a major upgrade in Episode 2. Hopefully we see you then!

I loved it!

Great job! Good animation. good story, and funny dialog. One star off just because the animation could use some polishing.

tacobuttfish responds:

I agree. Now that I'm a bit over a minute in on Episode 2, I can see a few things I should have done differently with the animation in this episode. By far, this is our best work, but there's always room for improvement! Thanks for the constructive criticism and we'll see you back here for episode 2!

alright...

It was an ok storyline, and a few parts made me laugh, but I thought it was a little sloppy. The animation was jerky and wasn't very smooth. Some of the drawings looked akward and distorted. There were lots of pauses in the action were there was no movement whatsoever. I know you spent a lot of time on this, band it isn't bad, it just needs some fine tuning.

I hope to see part two some time in the future!

tacobuttfish responds:

Yeah, I've had a few people say that about the pauses, whats strange is it doesn't do that on my setup here or on my friends/family's setup. I wonder if it has anything to do with the scene setup within the project file? Anyway, hopefully we can figure that out and have it fixed for episode 2.

I didn't care for it

it was ok at best a good idea but didn't seem really funny to me. It also seemed like a reused plot "cough cough gurren lagann cough." The only thing I can really say I liked was the different music.

tacobuttfish responds:

yes, there are some parts that could easily be said is "similar" but I would hardly say "reused", I mean gurren lagann is much more "mech" oriented, and sure it's got a hero who wants out for adventure and gets a power, but I mean, that's a pretty general plot, and not actually the plot for our cartoon, just for this first episode... I think as the series continues you'll see that it has less and less in common with the great series you mentioned. But good eye for noticing that because we're fans of that series and it definitely was an inspiration.

nice

the fact tht its like a old japanees show makes it funny and some of the lines are great like
"i cant eat it with out tarder suace" and "i am a master of soduko"
all of tht was funny but really laked in story originallity.
2 pals weird life style some thing strange comes up the pals discuss it a monster comes in and destroies everything then 1 of the 2 use the object uses power he/she nvr used before didnt no how he/she did it and now a new heroe comes into the srtory and the animation could be better but all together its an 8

tacobuttfish responds:

We were inspired by older japanese animes for sure on this series. Specifically Dragon Ball and Gurren Laagen. Thanks for the great review and the animation is much better in Episode 2 which we'll launch as soon as we can! See you then!
