Reviews for "Ge.ne.sis: Alpha Demo"

Pretty good

I love the atmosphere of this, even if is a demo. Sure, the music does get repetetive, but it was a good choice (if only the clip was a little longer) and there were plenty of typos... but those were already pointed out. I didn't notice anyone mentioning the bug with the magic orb usage though: When choosing attacks before a battle begins, you'll notice that your orb pool decreases accordingly when switching to a higher level skill. However, if you change your mind and switch back, the orb count does not return to its original value. Fix this. Also, once in awhile, after selecting a level 2 skill for the first action you cannot change the other actions to level 2. I couldn't reproduce this consistently, so I can't pinpoint where the problem is.

Work on it and finish it up and you'll have yourself a great game!

huh

didn't like it though... but anyway it was hard work ...

To many steps

Its turn based which means theres no need for all the stop and go with click the monster and then click begin battle and all that just to battle. Slows it down further and its not needed. I found the battle system confusing but maybe its just me... I'd also suggest hot keys rather then all the clicking in battle. Looks good Hope to see something soon. and im not sure how the gameplay is going to go but if its a random battle system, shorter battles in general.

Good work this far

But still needs much improvement.

Sometimes your graphics seem very professional, with much experience with degradé, yet other times they seems very amateurish. The Map Screen has too little contrast, making it a little harder to even see the trees. That doesn't work as eye candy, and will be even a bigger problem if you wish to add obstacles in the battle. Oh, and it would be better to have some background in the "internal battle" screen, something related to the "outside" background. The characters vary on strength of degradé, yet it looks a little out of place many times, mainly on the enemy's body parts. Respect the anatomy to get a better grasp of how the shading should look like, and if necessary use more than once the gradient tool per body part.

As for the UI, it's the most professional aspect of the game, with a intrincated level of detail and a color scheme that works really well.

Even if your drawings have a considerable skill, the animation itself needs big improvements. Since in a game of this type you might not use many body animations, you should take sometime to work on the inbetween frames, such as on Nera's backjump after she strikes. In the summoning effect of the Tarot, you had me surprised. Keep that quality on all animations on the final version, and you'll be fine.

Unfortunately I have to go now, so if you have any questions message me.
I hope I did not offend you, as I believe these tips will help you out.
Keep it up.

Too hard...

I couldn't even get through the first battle! Now, it might be just my noobishness, but I really think that this game is too hard.
