Reviews for "Ge.ne.sis: Alpha Demo"

very nice

Apart from alot of buttons didn't work, i would like the option to skip the animations, it ended too quick even for a demo, hope the real deal has a whole world that you can explore, maybe 2-3 background songs you can choose from.

Most of all the spellings were drastic. its spelled "Phase" not Phrase. They're having a fight not a conversation :P

On the upside the graphics were superb, i enjoyed the battle style and overall for 2mb i thought there was alot in it. keep up the good work :)

Found a bug

When i initialised a battle with Nera she had 5 magic orbs
i decided to make her use 1 lvl 2 attack at the cost of 2 orbs
consequently she only had 3 orbs left
but then i changed my mind and reset it to a lvl 1 attack - but the orbs remained the same :/

awesome!

the whole thing is simply amazing. the graphic, the gameplay, the battle mode - its genius. this is going to be something great; maybe it's the birth of the next newgrounds video game?

A nice start...

I sent you a very long list of spelling/grammar corrections by PM, so I'll just make mention of that here and move on.

The "Continue," "Options," and "Credit" links do not work on the menu screen. I do like your addition of a "Skip" button to the opening scene, however, there really needs to be a way to turn off the music. Maybe this could be placed in the "Options" menu when it's available, along with options to disable sounds and change quality. One thing I did notice is that everything appears to be clickable (i.e. turns the mouse icon into a hand). For example, at the very beginning, before the statue comes to life, the mouse pointer turns into a hand icon for her, which does nothing when clicked. This is a little misleading, as normally, the hand icon indicates some form of interactivity.

I noticed some areas of lag in the initial conversation, too, right before the wolf-creature appears. I'm not sure what the cause of the lag is, but I've been through the dialog four times now, and the lag always occurs in the same places. In combat, if the enemy moves into combat range and attacks, the movement animation is not shown, the game just goes straight into the Defense screen. This could be misleading, as it may not be immediately clear who is being attacked. Clicking on the "level 2" orbs for the main character used two energy orbs each, and if the player decides to go back to a "level 1" skill, the energy orbs are not refunded.

Lastly, the link to your website at the conclusion of the tutorial doesn't work... that might look bad to some people who play this, and try to look for more information about it.

I'm giving you a 7 overall, the art is decent, and with a lot of spelling revisions, the addition of sound effects, and fixing some other things, I think this might be a pretty damn enjoyable game.

Me Likey RPG! Me Likey RPG!

More! Just that one word... All I really need to say...

On to things I don't need to say...

The actual battle where each opponent does their 3 attacks against the other... A tad slow... If there were some way to skip the animations there and just get the straight damage, it would be wonderful... Or at least give us something to do there to maybe improve our damage or lower the opponents... Something other than sitting there watching for 20 - 30 seconds.

Other than that... Love it... Want more of it...
