Reviews for "The Necronomicon 2.0"

its alright.

Funny game, i must admit, though it has some flaws.
As i have understood there is a 20% chance to recieve 1 of the 5 attributes the experiment card contains. But out of many times, the isanity comes up way to much for those 20% to hold up x)

I'd play this IRL, without question.

A lovely, addicting, unspeakably evil game. I'm glad I had the forewarning of other reviewers who were sucked into it for hours on end so that I could conscientiously quit after about half an hour. I'm still working on getting good enough at the game to make the challenges fun instead of frustrating... that will come...

Anyway, I think the only way to make this better would be to add more cards and make the decks customizable. Of course, that would be an enormous project; as a humble flash game, this does quite well.

Finally, a note at the reviewer below: it's not a bug. Mad Experiment has one random effect from the four listed, not all four. It would be incredibly overpowered otherwise, even at the expense of your sanity.

Excellent

I found a bug though, the Mad Experiment card doesn't work properly. I used it right at the start of a game, and all it did was summon a shoggoth. No insanity, no extra arcane or defence.

On another note, I think the dispelling cards really need some adjustment. You can spend several rounds building up your stats, and one lucky card can wipe it all away. It's too much

Rather than completely removing opponent's arcane or defence, they should just reduce it by a set number. Like dispel could remove unvuln, and decrease opponent defence by 3 or so. That would make things fairer, I think.

great card game

This is a very fun dueling game. I like the Lovecraftian theme and the creative use of creature cards. As opposed to other card games with piles of creatures or units, you made a great game with but one creature available at a time per side. I hope you plan to build on this game and add more cards.

IA! IA! Cthulhu F'taghn!

Sorry to keep you waiting. I wanted to be able to finish the game before I make any sort of opinion here. That being said...let's begin.

Now, the previous version was fun in of itself, but I love this newer version, in of the fact that the system is a little better designed. Cards more useful and multi-faceted, strategies easier to accomplish, and let's not forget THE GAME SAVES REGULARLY NOW. (That last bit was really pissing me off the previous time.) The game is easy to get the hang of and fun to play, whether you're an HP Lovecraft fan or not.

On the side here, I have to mention the Challenge Mode outside of the regular game mode. I will say that it was hard to beat at times. Some of it was dumb luck, some of it was skill, and some of it...was because the computer did something really ditsy WHICH I'M NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT. Computers that make mistakes are more genuine in gameplay. It makes them seem more human. Also, the useful Discard button - for when you don't wanna risk ANY of the cards at the wrong moment - was a very good idea.

Alright, so...anything else? Ummm...nice gallery? The music fit the theme of the game itself, making it more entertaining? How about...a suggestion? Maybe...try using this game and the system it was made on to do some two-player real-time interaction. Just a thought. I think people might enjoy that. Well...at least...I would. Anyway, you get an A for Awesome in my book. Keep up the good work.
