Very Intresting

ok well here's my interpretation of your dream,
The white shape that represents you, sorry to say, shows that you probably don't have much in the self-esteem department. Hey you did say your-self that you have a shit-hole of a life. Because of this your brain didn't insert you, but rather a manifestation of your-self. The road as well as the place your in probably represent your own life. The road showing the progress of your life while the land shows how you view the world. Red sky over a desolate wasteland, or in other words, one huge hell hole. The fact that your running shows that you want to speed through it all, even when it starts to hurt. The net are your fear of stopping, if you stop you will get caught in the net and then become stuck so you can not continue forward. The gate shows where all the hardships end. congrats you were able to make it out of those hard times and into a better life. although i wouldn't be expecting a ruin building at the end. Maybe it means something entirely different...who knows?
well if you had the patience to sit here and read this monstrous review, good for you.
Oh and by the way...when i say "the end" i do NOT mean something like the end of his life but more the end of his hardships in life. ok? good just wanted stop some confusion before it even starts.

youre dream could be...

IN my opion youre dream could be a vision in the way future(if you believe in reincarnation) or i could be that its trying to tell you something.is this youre first weird dream?if not then i sugest you think deeply about it.

hmmmm

i would have to say that the forest represents being lost and you could have been suffocating slightly due to the red sky resembling blood and lack of air to the brain the shanty town could represent lonlyness thts all i think it means

And the cigar, was a symbol, for a cigar.

My interpretation of the artist's dream: I don't believe there's much to interpret. What he describes sounds more like a temporary event of sleep apnea which can cause basically suffocation if it's allowed to continue. This lack of oxygen can cause states of euphoria while asleep as well as memorable physical pain in any dreams, such as chest pains, or side pains (as the artist related in the work), a sense of panice, fear, or believing to be in the presence of an evil force. The red sky may have been nothing more than the redness of the inside of the dreamer's own eyelids and the trees, the veins. The brain interpreted this to be a sky over a forest and then began inserting additional imagery as it was starved of oxygen. The nets represent, nets. Very simply, the fear of entrapment - for as the brain suffocates, primal fears common in most animals are brought to the front of consciousness. The gate "device" as is described was probably the instant that the dreamer began breathing through his nose instead of his mouth in his sleeping state, allowing the lungs to full and oxygen to rush back into the bloodstream, creating an intense of pleasure and/or relief. To explain this new feeling in the dream, the brain created the device and the shanty town to explain why it suddenly felt safe again. I doubt the artist will have any more dreams like this unless he has chronic sleep apnea, or abuses drugs.

My critique on the work itself: Decent. I enjoyed it. I liked the imagery and especially the music. The narrative was a bit distracting which might have been resolved by using someone else to do it instead of the person that did do it. But maybe a voice actor wasn't in the artist's budget. All in all it had me thinking of the possible sinister nature of volley ball nets and how they do tend to act very smug whenever I see them. Good piece.

TheMillz responds:

( sigh )...AGAIN, I did use a voice actor. His name is Andre de Almedia. Look at the credits, his name is clearly printed under the part mentioning voicework.

Also, isn't sleep apnea like a fat person condition? And I don't take drugs.

Thanks for reviewing.

very interesting

I can only interpret more simple meanings, but this is definately of a complex nature. All i can say is that most dreams are a manifestation of daily events or thoughts, but sometimes theyre more (if theres a sceptic out there that disagrees, take into consideration the phenomenon known as "de-ja-vu"). I wish i could decipher this puzzle for you, but only you know EXACTLY what you saw, what you felt, etc, and if you cant find the answer in another, you should probably try your best to find it in yourself. thanks for bringing this flash to newgrounds, its definately something to think about for anyone that takes it seriously.
