Gold star for effort, needs some minor overhauls..
The alchemy is certainly makes sense, and the character art looks like some effort went into it. The plot may be worthwhile, depending on the vibe you give the futuristic portions.
1) Seriously spice up the dungeon maps as well as the world map. The tree sprites in the forest don't seem to match the art style of the characters, and the maps themselves are simple mazes. But trees don't grow in straight lines, nor would an underground facility be completely bare and lacking in computer consoles, tables, cabinets, etc. It would increase the time you spend on sprites, yes, but it would be worth it.
2) Hate to be blunt, but the combat interface is really ugly. There's no easy way to see everyone's hit points at once, leaving me trying to remember who needs healing. In boss battles with multiple targets on the same monster like the giant squid, it's unclear what can and can't be attacked (maybe highlight targets as you pass the mouse over?). And finally, the character portraits behind the hip point displays make it difficult to actually read what's in the box. You could maybe have character names in a box with health bars under each name
3) Hopefully there will be more differences/balances between future party members. Right now, the main character is a powerhouse while the other two wait around to die.
It looks like a good effort so far. Keep it up!

I completed on my second attempt(because i didn't see the equipment shop in the first town)
it's a very good flash, and it would get 10/10 if it had the things you mentioned in the autors comments, which would make the game epic
one thing that was annoying however, is that the game gives no directions, inbetween the towns, or that you have to find the captain in the ice fields...
i like this game
this is a great game and i had alot of fun playing it but you get attacked too often and cant use abilitys mutch:( you culd not look if your items wre equiped and you dont have place to view your carecters stats.i suggest you add a stats and armer butten to view them.also if u have side quests and a butten or item to avoid enemy attacks that wold be great.i felt like i had no control over my carecters.
