Reviews for "Swept to the End"

very nice but very (I mean VERY) hard

I loved the graphic style of the game, it's very simple and still nice. The plot is also good. The trouble starts when you have to play it. Becouse it's nearly impossible, even the Dark forest level is unfairly hard, and later it just gets worse! I checked your walktrough but it doesn't make it much easier. As I wrote the unfair things start right in the dark forest when the enemies coming mostly from all possible directions (front, back, air) at the same time! And top of that, when I miss just one of them, it takes with a single attack 3 or more health bars!!!! Then the undeads: chopping their heads is pice of cake, but that demon is ridiculus! And I can't do what you wrote in the walktrough, that I should kill 'em all before the encounter of the demon becouse they are always coming, they have endless numbers. So I will not have time to do the tricks with the demon, you wrote becouse of the zombies. (But I would hardly have time to do that without them too!) And the demon takes also 3 or more health bars with a single hit! Once I miacleusly managed to get trough that level (still don't know how) and (of course) the haunted forest gets even more unfair (yes, not harder, but more unfair!!!). The trees chopping continuosly, there is no way to get trough without getting hurt, but mostly there is no way to get trough with getting hurt either!!!! Becouse as usualy the hits paralize me for a few seconds and before I can do anything I get another hit! You say I should learn their rythm, well screw theri rythm, they are chopping so fast that whenever I start running I end up getting killed! I never got to a further level so I can't comment them but I'm pretty sure that they are just more and more ridiculus.
A good thing in the game that when I get killed I can start the same level not from the begining. But I don't like that there is no savegame, so if I reopen the window for some reason I have to start the whole game over.
My suggestions are:
1. Savegame!!!
2. Try to redesign the damages, so that when I get hit I loose really only 1 health bar. I mean that the enemies hit me only once per attack, and not continuosly as long as they contact me (like it happens yet).
3. A cheat mode. Maybe some mazochists like that ridiculus hardiness the game has, but for those who don't, an invulnerability cheat would be really helpful.
If you make those changes I suggested I'm sure your game will be much more enjoyable.

SecretSecretary responds:

Hahahahaha! Yeah it is a diffucult game and sorry if its so difficult that it feels unfair, but I usure you many people has gotten through the game. Those demons are cake once you know how to kill them, and the haunted woods is just all about patience and concentration. Sorry if it was too hard for you. And thikns for the suggestions!

NOT FUN

I ONLY PLAYED IT FOR LIKE 5 MINUTES AND COULD TELL IT WASNT GONNA BE GOOD.

SecretSecretary responds:

meh!

pfffff

The fire is completly in-jumpible i tried it during 15 min and i can't ;(

SecretSecretary responds:

You can do it, come on. just try harder :)
hehe!

Good idea, terrible execution.

Not only did the game execute in a screen quarter the size of what we normally see, but the pausing and jerkiness of the game during any type of command even with such a small screen made it completely unplayable. There was a terribly poor threshold for being attacked and attacking back. This should have just been a movie, without the annoying "user interactivity" which served no purpose except to try and lengthen the "experience" between real plot points. I don't need to do a "dragon chase" over twice just because a door drops out of nowhere the first time, and I don't enjoy spending 10 minutes trying to beat a big domokun only to quit and stop caring about the storyline after.

SecretSecretary responds:

I agree with you with the awkwardness of the combat. I really pushed my limits of coding and game design when I did this and learned a lot. Your thoughts help as well. As for the jerkiness, this is the first I hear of it. Maybe your computer is a bit old or something? Dunno, it runs fine on the internet where Im at.

meh

nice storyline, but it did lack in graphics and gameplay. Very simple and boring arcade jump-duck style game.

SecretSecretary responds:

dude this is just wrong
