Reviews for "Evil Nights"

Enjoyable game.

I enjoyed the game overall, I only tried the easiest mode, but I beat it without losing a single person. ;p

The only thing that really deterred me from trying the harder modes was selecting your spells. Being able to scroll through them was helpful, but it was damn annoying when I landed on Teleport instead of Fireball and had to wait for that to finish before I could attack, and by then the Demon I was about to kill is unfrozen, and I have to try and freeze him again now. :|

Maybe you could have made the Down Arrow the Teleport activation? Seeing as how I didn't bother using it at all, considering I only got hit a grand total of 4 or 5 times.

I'd have to agree with some others about spell upgrades, I was pretty disappointed how weak full Ice was, I expected some kind of increase in freeze length or somesuch.

I was also a little disappointed in the lack of the walking demons, I think I only encountered two the entire time.

In any case, I found upgrading my Crossbowmen ASAP the most useful thing to do, as it gave the Demons something else to try and attack instead of the houses, and when the city starts expanding too far to walk, definitely throw some levels into Teleport.

All in all, an enjoyable game, 4/5 on the Pico Scale.

Cool game

I'd like to see more games like these on Newgrounds. I hope you make more!

I liked it a lot, but two suggestions

1- The game needs more balance work.

You have some *great* framework laid out. Some great weapon selection, a great premise, nice character development, great graphics, etc. BUT there's no real strategic reason for me to spend points on many of those items. In other words, instead of me thinking in terms of different strategies with different weapons, I end up buying a weapon and thinking "man... I just wasted my money".

Some of those weapons just serve no real purpose no matter what strategy one might have. Similarly - my guy never even game remotely close to dying, and I never once upgraded his health. If the hero is to have health points and the ability to upgrade them - it should be to where the player *has* to upgrade them or else risk being killed. Health was never an issue - no health potions or anything else...

Lastly... I guess I found a bug. I hit the teleport function right before the it told me the level/night was over and switched to daytime. I hit the message to clear it and then found that I was not able to move around. I could switch the direction I was facing, choose new weapons, but I couldn't move my character or fire any weapons no matter what I tried (WASD and arrow keys)... I tried teleporting again, etc... no dice.

That was kind of disappointing to have spent a good 30 minutes playing the game and then have to quit.

Thanks, though - good effort. Very professional looking overall. Just working on balancing the dynamics of the game around your framework to allow the player to form a variety of strategies, and you'll be good!

Pretty good.

I liked it, though teleporting was more like.. dashing in a way.. didn't really teleport you at all.. ^^; voting it a 10 because kornfanboy is just stupid. otherwise it would be an 8.

very different

pretty good, maybe it could use some more challenges besides the one village
