Couldn't stop until I won
This was great, I played it for a couple hours. I liked seeing the city grow, and the advantages and disadvantages that created. The two types of enemies also worked well, although mana/will seemed to be a lot more important than health. It also had nice 3D rendered graphics with a pleasant fantasy style. Here are some ideas for improvement:
- ability to sell back stuff you don't want
- combine 'heal' and 'rebuild' into one spell. Any time you eliminate having to hunt and peck for a certain button or key, you improve the interface, in my opinion.
- ability to upgrade running speed. I know the teleportation spell is similar, but sometimes you need to huff it on foot.
- upgrading spells should make them fire faster, not just do more damage. They could also last longer, for the poison/iceball/firewall spells.
- more upgrades, like carpenters that heal the buildings, or two-story houses that hold more people in less space, or reinforced buildings with more hit points, or how about a windstorm spell that pushes the enemies back.
- make the crossbowmen visibly stronger as they're upgraded.
- I probably wouldn't use it myself, but a lot of people like a 'survival' mode with high scores.
