Reviews for "Autumn War"

Fun, but buggy and needs a save feature

I enjoyed this game, but saw 2 main problems:

1) It needs a save function. This is a pretty slow game, and not everyone can sit down and play it start to finish. (Unless, of course, there IS a save function that I missed because I wasn't being observant...)

2) If you click on the unit picture during combat (the face in the upper left corner) you automatically defeat the zombies, regardless of how many there are or how few men you have.

Otherwise, an enjoyable game.

awsome

whoever even thinks of blamming this is out of their mind. I like these kind of games, it was original, a little repetitive, and tutourial helped a lot. Nothing bad at all, cept' for speed for slow computers.

Figured it out

I just figured out, any unit you have reatreat immediatly when fighting a strong unit, zombies won't follow nearly as much as say if they are running right behind you. try it

Quality in flash...

Loved this game, the final "unit" you get cracked me up and made the game worthwhile but I had to fight hard to earn the right to use it. The fire power it had though made me think "why didn't they deploy that unit in the first!?" I wouldn't have needed anything else! The battle music fitted well but there wasn't much in the way of sounds except the repeatd gunfire and occassional grunt from either zombie or soldier. The forced retreat was only slightly annoying.

Having trouble with the final level? (the one where the boss man arrives on the scene himself) here's a small tactical walkthrough.

Each map is generated randomly except for roads so the cover can be anywhere, make sure you have a level with cover near the centre of the map and send your armoured infantry + tank into it near the centre in cover.
Get all remaining forces except 2 squads behind the tank but a resonable distance away (say if you had to retreat the tank squad you don't want zombies in the middle of your backups troops).
Send the remaining 2 squads near the game over line and on each side covering the top and bottom of the screen, just incase a zombie group slip past.
Pray your tank unit attracts ALL if not most of te enemy groups an then engage as soon as the crosshair appears over a green unit when you have the tank unit selected.
When you engage select fallback and fire ASAP and pray you kill all if not most of the enemy forces, if somehow you don't manage it then you have the fallback groups neaby to finish the job.
Always have you tank unit fallback and fire for maximum damage, the fallback increases the amount of time your troops have to dish out damage, theyre accurate enough as it is so DO NOT hold position, never advance and only charge if theres only 2-3 zombies remaining as you do not want to suffer any casualties otherwise you firepower is severly compromised.
You should be able to hold on until your "special unit" arrives, have fun when you get it!

Superb.

You did a very good job at making this game. Mission 6 is a beast to beat. I love a challenge, it's hard to find games that don't get incredibly easy after you play them for a day. This game continues to be a challenge due to the fact that I can never tell that, when the zombies get within ten yards and I charge, how many of my men will die.

Good work on it, I look forward to hopefully beating it soon!
