Reviews for "Autumn War"

good game

This is a well thought out game. Only a few problems to speak of.
You should be able to tell any squad in range to attack the zombie group, instead of having to use the group the zombies want to attack. It causes so many looses in mission 4 when you start with no vehicles.
The auto-retreat is fine because it helps keep squads alive, but the zombies follow way too closely forcing you to fight another loosing battle.
Your troops move way too slowly. Everytime you lose ground to the zombies, and finally defeat that zombie group, it takes forever to regain the ground.

The squad of 10 soldiers and the mech in mission six is great. It only has one order, Obliterating!

For everyone else, there is no money in the game. The numbers over the vehicles is how many non-combat, unpaused seconds must pass before you get that vehicle. If a squad is forced to fight before the vehicle gets there, you lose the time spent to get the vehicle.
RPG (Rocket Launcher) squads are what you need to use against large groups of zombies. One full strength rifle squad behind the RPG squad is required as well.
If possible, get a vehicle, even just a truck, for every squad.
Some squads start with half or even most of the time required to get a vehicle already used. Try to get a vehicle with each squad, and you will see the time bar in the top left partially full for the vehicle.

Great,but needs a little work

This was an awesome strategy-war game.I just hated that once they pass that line that you lose. The zombies were also kinda fast.

Always Stuck

I always get stuck on the level where you have to defend. It's ridiculous, I've got jeeps and AKs and M4s I still get wiped out. Oh well.

Excellent game. I've played this for 2-3 years on and off and I like it. Just wish the weapons were more effective, sometimes they just suck.

Great game. I've always loved it.

Of course it isn't completely polished, due to the choppy animations and grady graphics. There is definitely room for improvement but so far it is still great

And @crashnkill
It isn't the developer's fault you suck at the game.

Unpolished, probably unfinished but far from uninspiring. I keep coming back to this year on year. Despite the flawed gameplay mechanics and the unbalanced/unfair difficulty at the very end I would and have recommend it to my friends.

The sometimes inevitability of defeat in the last mission makes managing my squads feel so authentic - insofar as I feel like a lieutenant with stretched resources fighting in impossible circumstances. A bit "last standy". I don't know if I've actually felt that from any game ever, at least not in the same way.

The music, while repetitive does greatly add to the overall immersion, which is this game's strong point.

Terrible presentation (menus), terrible mechanics, too short, dialogue is terrible, missed opportunity to put any story at all in, and yet because of the fighting screen control which I've seen nowhere else, the music and artwork and the most je-ne-sais-quois I've ever seen, it's brilliant.

AMBIVALENCE. ARGH.
