Reviews for "Our World {durn}"

Whoa!

The last time I heard a House song this good was probably at least a few years ago! This is the first song I've heard by you, durn, but if your other songs are as good as this one...you're very musically talented! Keep at it!! =]

durn responds:

:) Thanks Zerlot. I hope a few others peak your interest. :D

niiiiice

if i heard this in ibiza i would be goin fuckin mental

durn responds:

Hell, if -I- heard this in Ibiza I'd go even -more- mental! lol :D

I would love for my stuff to be played in some more clubs. Don't know any DJs though. I'm too lazy to network in the real world. :d lol

thanks for the very kind words, subby! :D

durn responds:

lol, w00t. thanks ID-N. :D I figured once I saw your review of Rain you were gonna realize your foot's in your mouth after hearing this one. ;) hehehe. :D

thanks for the review, dude. glad you liked it. :)

You produce great house tracks

I didnt notice til I scrolled down that you also made summer solace. lovin your music man, listenin to this in a chilly room but its warming me up a bit, maybe its just me thinkin about listening to this come summer.

people are probably hearing the daft punk sound because of the Wurlitzer, they used it on Discovery abit. or perhaps they hear it because you know how to make good house tracks just like DP know how to.

durn responds:

aye, I shouldn't complain. pretty high accolades to be compared to daft punk. :d hehe, more than likely it's due to the side-chaining I use. they were huge users of side-chain compression to get their kicks to punch through. I'm a big fan of the method myself.

glad to have found another fan. :D thanks for the review, OdHero!

absulutely amazing

So well made and so perfect, love listening to your music, you need to make a new years entry, can't wait for your next song, i'd like to know what you used to create this song, was it a program? or do you hava equipment? i would love to make my own music

durn responds:

heheh, read the track comments, silly. :D I'll expand a bit, though. :)

All the different melodies originated on my roommate's organ, was able to achieve some really funky harmonies due to using my foot to play the bass.

Anyhow, when recording one of the organ melodies in Reason, I accidentally switched the NN-XT to a muted electric bass patch and had a "Holy Shit!" moment when it just sounded sooooo funky once I layered it with a more solid/repetitive sub bass! :D

The stabby notes are the powerful Thor synthesizer, incorporating the step sequencer along with held chords to make a bouncy roll.

Aaaand, even though I released Freedom on Dec. 28th, it's basically my New Year's track as I'm super busy with work-related loops for the next month or two. May or may not have time to do a side-project to release. :/ Hopefully I do, though! :D
